Khloé Kardashian will file for divorce for the second time from her estranged husband, Lamar Odom, very soon, sources tell Us Weekly exclusively.
They’re working some issues out, “but it’s going to happen soon,” one reveals to Us.
“Lamar is doing great,” another insider tells Us. “He hasn’t been drinking and is doing well. But Khloé is going to file for divorce. She wants to leave him now.”
The former NBA star’s feelings aren’t exactly mutual. “Lamar loves her and wants to be with her,” the source says. “But he also wants to lead a normal life too.”
Kardashian, 31, and Odom, 36, married in 2009 after just one month of dating, and she filed for divorce in 2013. In a recent interview with Howard Stern, the Strong Looks Better Naked author revealed that the former Lakers player was unfaithful throughout their marriage, which ultimately led to their split. However, the couple remained legally bound until Odom finally signed the papers last summer.
Then he was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel in October. Us confirmed at the time that the two were still contractually married, as a judge had yet to sign off on their divorce documents.
Since then, the reality personality has remained by Odom’s side, helping him through his recovery, which included a recent trip to NYC for Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 3 show, as well as a hike.
This past February, Kardashian said on Kocktails With Khloé that marrying her ex again would be “like the best dream.” She continued: “I hope that first marriage could happen again, but it’s really hard to erase everything that happened. Just building a friendship back is what I’m doing now, it has nothing intimately, nothing at all, just pure love, and I want someone to learn how to love themselves again.”
The state of their relationship became news this past weekend after Khloé posted about “letting go” on Instagram after Odom was spotted partying in L.A. “It doesn’t matter how loyal you are to someone,” the reality star wrote. “You can’t change someone’s heart and bad habits unless they want to themselves.”
A source maintains to Us that Odom is sober and hasn’t been drinking. As for the divorce? “He’s fine with it,” the insider says. “He has a whole new lease on life.”
