Memories to last a lifetime. Khloe Kardashian rushed to her estranged husband Lamar Odom’s side on Tuesday, Oct. 13, upon hearing news that he had been hospitalized after he was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel and in critical condition.
“Khloe is extremely upset and beside herself,” a source told Us Weekly.
The pair have had a tumultuous relationship, to say the least, but even after filing for divorce from the former NBA player in December 2013, the 31-year-old reality star has always kept tabs on Odom.
“Lamar is genuinely one of the best people I’ve ever met, and everyone says that when they meet him,” she told Complex in a recent interview. “I think Lamar’s gonna always be that person [for me] but that’s what made it so special. Even if I had it for five years or whatever, it was the best ever and I’m grateful I did. Some people don’t get that ever and I had that magic for a long time.”
Kardashian and Odom, 35, met back in August 2009 and married one month later after a whirlwind romance. They costarred on two seasons of the reality show Khloe & Lamar, but Odom’s troubles with addiction led to problems in their marriage.
“The problem is cocaine,” a pal told Us of the drugs that got in the way of their relationship. “He would be high for three or four days at a time.”
When Kardashian finally decided to pull the plug on their marriage, “she flip-flopped several times,” another source said, but ultimately decided she couldn’t be with someone who refused to seek help.
On Wednesday, Oct. 14, however, Us Weekly confirmed that though Kardashian and Odom had both finally signed the papers in July, a judge has yet to sign the final judgment, so the pair is still legally married.
