My way or the highway! Kourtney Kardashian opened up about fighting with her sisters, parenting and more in an interview with The New Potato on Tuesday, May 2.

While Kourtney says she doesn’t squabble with Khloé, Kim is another story. The surprising thing they argue about: how they raise their kids. “I feel like we will bicker. It’s not even bickering; we just have different ways of doing things,” she told the website. “So even if it’s things with our kids, we’ll talk to each other about it. I’ll say, ‘I think I want to do this, this way,’ and then she wants to do something that way. She will give little digs as if my way is wrong or something.”

Kourtney says she has to raise her voice to get the last word. “I used to love confrontation — and I don’t love confrontation anymore. But sometimes it will really get to me and I’ll just go off. And it feels so good. It’s more just a yelling, quick thing to let it be known that I’m always right,” she said with a laugh.

Regardless of the arguments, she loves having her three kids — Mason, 6, Penelope, 3 and Reign, 16 months — grow up with her tight-knit family. “I feel like Khloé is definitely the fun, playful aunt, and Kylie [Jenner] has about a million pets, so they love to go play with her pets. They all just bring something different into their lives, which is nice to see,” she said.

Although the last year has had lots of ups and downs for the Kardashian-Jenner family, including Kourtney’s split from longtime love Scott Disick, she tries to make the best of it. “I think there has just generally been a lot of change in our family in the last year, and I think it was just about staying positive,” she said. “I feel like we are really, really good at staying positive, focusing on the good and just turning any situation that people would think of as negative as something that is helping us grow.”

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star also decides to focus on the positives when it comes to parenting, and offered her best advice for new moms. “I think we all have a mother’s instinct when we have kids, so just trust it and stay calm. I remember when I was pregnant with Mason, my mom would always be like, ‘Why isn’t the room painted? Where is the crib? Where is this or that…’ And I was like, ‘People used to have babies in caves; it’s going to be okay.’”

“Don’t worry if your diaper bag isn’t perfectly packed with all the things you need,” she continued. “As time went on, I started to just leave the house without it.…I was like, ‘Let’s just live life and not carry a million things around.’ I think it’s all about staying calm and trusting your instincts.”

Now Kourtney has another sibling to give parenting tips to, with brother Rob Kardashian’s announcement on Friday, May 6, that he’s expecting his first child with fiancée Blac Chyna. The couple confirmed the happy news on Instagram by each posting an emoji of the model with a baby bump. While Rob is a first-time dad, Chyna is already mom to son King Cairo, 3, with ex-fiancé Tyga, who now dates Rob’s sister Kylie.
