Next Monday, August 20, marks a not-so-happy wedding "anniversary" for Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries.
Together for just 72 days after their lavish nuptials last year, the former spouses are still locked in a complicated court battle to annul their union.
NBA star Humphries' latest move? On July 16, he attempted to subpoena Kardashian's boyfriend Kanye West — having a processor drop off court papers inside a Nordstrom's box!
In a hearing on Wednesday — which Kardashian, 31, and Humphries, 27, skipped — her attorney Laura Wasser told the judge that a processor arrived at Kardashian's L.A.-area home to serve court papers to rapper West, 35.
The reality star answered the door on West's behalf, and told the processor "she could not accept it," according to Humphries' attorney William Waller.
Admitting she was frustrated with the extremely lengthy annulment process — with Humphries and his team filing a great deal of subpoenas and other requests — Wasser told the judge that her famous client has already incurred $250,000 in fees.
Humphries has accused Kardashian of defrauding him — tying the knot solely for TV ratings and publicity. Wasser has countered that there is no basis or factual evidence of Humphries' claims.
