Kristin Chenoweth Leaves The Good Wife After Head Injury

Kristin Chenoweth needs a little more time to mend.
The actress, 44, is leaving CBS' The Good Wife -- on which she had a recurring role -- after an onset injury in July.
"It is with deep regret to inform everyone that due to my injuries, I am unable to return to The Good Wife at this time," Chenoweth told Us Weekly on Monday. "[I'm] getting better slowly, and thank you everyone for your concern."

Chenoweth's last Good Wife appearance will be on the season 4 premiere Sept. 30.
Adds a source to Us: "She may return in the future, but right now she needs more time to heal. The producers said she is welcome back any time."

The award-winning star sustained a hit on her head after being hit with a piece of lighting equipment -- which collapsed from a large gust of wind on the Brooklyn set of the show in early July.
Paramedics responded to a 911 call and treated her on set with a neck brace. The Broadway star was put on a stretcher and taken to a nearby hospital.

As she recuperates, the occasional Glee guest star also gave thanks to her supportive fans via Twitter. "To my fans: im readin all my get well/bday cards. THANK YOU . . .There is a girl that did a "get well video" and i am dying! So funny. Its to "say a little prayer for u!"
