Breaking News: Dean Sheremet Files for Divorce from LeAnn Rimes

Dean Sheremet filed papers on Thursday to divorce LeAnn Rimes, UsMagazine.com has learned. In the petition for divorce, Sheremet asks for Rimes to pay spousal support plus all attorney fees and costs. His lawyer Stacy D. Phillips also requests the court not to grant spousal support to Rimes. The papers were made public on Friday.

Sheremet, now 29, married singer Rimes, now 27, in 2002. They separated in July 2009. Reports circulated that Rimes had filed in September to end her marriage, but no court records exist to support the rumor.

The singer did release a statement announcing their split. She said, "This decision was amicable and we remain committed and caring friends with great admiration for one another."

Us Weekly first broke the story in March that Rimes was carrying on an affair with her former Lifetime movie costar, Eddie Cibrian. Cibrian, 36, was also married, with two children, to Brandi Glanville. His divorce from Glanville is ongoing. Cibrian and Rimes have stepped out together recently, attending events in Hollywood as a couple.

Sheremet is currently taking classes in Manhattan at the French Culinary Institute. In August, when asked about the extended Rimes-Cibrian affair that ended his marriage, he fought back tears and told Usmagazine.com, "It's bizarre. It's surreal. But I'm doing OK."

Think about it. If Dean was gay, why wouldn't Leann use that against him? It would be the perfect way to swing public sympathy to her. Of course, I don't know 100% that he isn't-no one of us posters does- but just because a guy isn't macho and is a house husband doesn't always equal gay! Do you think she would have put up with a sexless marriage for seven years? She's a vital young woman. Why would she need a sham marriage? Also I don't understand the posts slamming his looks (the beaver teeth comment especially)when he's an attractive man with a nice body. Baffling.
Shelly, what does "write" after he spends her money mean? Are you trying to say "right" after he spends her money. Also the word "to" in the last sentence should be spelled "too."
LeAnn is a grown up girl; how she spends what she has is her own business. She can decide what will be spent and what won't.

If I were LeAnn, I wouldn't get married again or have any kids, but if she and Eddie decided to get married, I wouldn't have any kids. She can be a stepmother to Eddie's two boys. That would be the ideal situation, IMO.
I think Deane should be true to himself and start living the lifestyle he wants, and from what I've heard that doesn't involve a woman.

In his original filing Eddie asked for spousal support but resubmitted after he was embarrassed into doing so!!!!
Get rid of alimony altogether, This is for you. I have news for you; most of the women of divorce already have a job and get very little child support unless they are a celebrity. I never got alimony and child support never supports a child if you aren't a celebrity. I agree on the alimony. Let 'em get a job, but the child support is necessary.

I, in essence, said everyone is guilty of something. Since that means cheating on a spouse to you, I guess you must be guilty of that.
