Can’t nothing keep this girl down! Lena Dunham stepped out in Los Angeles on Friday, March 18, looking in good spirits less than two weeks after she had to undergo emergency surgery for a ruptured ovarian cyst.

The Girls creator, 29, wore a gray T-shirt with the words “Sex Politics & TV” scrawled across the front, paired with a short red skirt.

In the last two weeks, Dunham has chronicled her recovery, and even posted a shout-out to fans for wishing her well through the process.

“Thank you so much for the love,” she captioned an Instagram post one week ago, after her release. “I’m safely out of the hospital and recuperating. Your well wishes mean the world. I can’t wait to be up and active, and to show my thanks. Always your girl, Lena.”

The Lenny founder also shared a hilarious photo from the room where she was resting up, noting that “recuperating from an adult female surgery in a 9 year old boy’s borrowed bedroom feels like a mid-nineties indie movie in the best way.”

Dunham announced in an Instagram post last month that she would have to bow out of a press tour to promote the new season of the HBO show due to her health issues.

“I am currently going through a rough patch with the illness and my body (along with my amazing doctors) let me know, in no uncertain terms, that it’s time to rest,” she captioned a photo of her hand on a bedspread. “That’s a hard thing to do, but I’m trying, because all I want is to make season 6 of Girls the best one yet.”

She will join Chelsea Clinton and America Ferrera to headline a private campaign event for Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton in West Hollywood on Sunday, March 20.
