Poised on and off the red carpet! Lupita Nyong'o has had a whirlwind award show season since breaking out in Hollywood, and now the Oscar nominee is touching on one part of fame that comes with the territory -- the pesky tabloids! During an appearance on an upcoming episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the 12 Years a Slave actress joked about those Jared Leto hookup rumors.

"Ah, but I thought Miley Cyrus broke us up," Nyong'o, 30, quipped to DeGeneres when asked. "That was the last thing I heard."

As previously reported, Leto, 42, and Cyrus, 21, have been been more than just friends. "[They] are hooking up," an insider told Us Weekly exclusively. "She stayed over at his house in L.A. in early February."

Added the source: "They like to have a good time, they love to talk about art and music -- and they're both comfortable with nudity!" (Page Six reported on Feb. 14 that Nyong'o and the 30 Seconds to Mars rocker were getting close themselves.)

Nyong'o is brand new to seeing herself in and on magazines, but admitted she once tried to buy one that had her face on the cover. "I've been so busy that I haven't actually walked by many newsstands," she told DeGeneres. "So the other day I went to a Hudson News in an airport while I was in transit and I was like, 'I need to see one of these,' and so I went and saw the New York mag on the stand and I bought one."

"I was trying to be discreet but then the guy behind the counter was like, 'Oh my God, you look like her. And I was like, 'Yeah -- never mind," she continued with a laugh. "But you know it's crazy cause when I read these rumors they're so detailed that even I start to question whether they're true or not," she added. "I know I've believed them in the past and now I guess I can't believe anything."
