Dog lover Martha Stewart — whose beloved chow puppy Ghenghis Khan died in an explosion in March — feels for Jessica Simpson, whose maltipoo Daisy was snatched by a coyote in L.A. earlier this week.
"It's pretty sad," Stewart, 68, told Usmagazine.com Wednesday at Us' 25 Most Stylish New Yorkers bash in NYC. "She should have watched it more closely, though. She should have been more careful."

Stewart said she met Daisy when she and Simpson, 29, filmed a Macy's commercial together a few years ago.
Her advice to the heartbroken singer?
"Get another dog," Stewart told Us. "I think it's very important to get another dog, someone else to love. You just have to find the dog that's the right match for you."

As of Wednesday, a dog-finding service, FindToto.com, had been making calls to some 1,000 of her neighbors asking if they'd spotted Daisy, who was given to Simpson by ex Nick Lachey five years ago.
Though she hasn't yet found the dog, Simpson is remaining optimistic.
"Still holding out hope despite the a--holes that say is it a dumb thing to do," she Twittered on Wednesday night. "Daisy is my baby ... why would I stop searching? I'm a mom."

Tell Us What You Think
103Jessica did not take proper precautions in the supervision of Daisy. Its her fault that the poor dog got eaten by a Coyote!
wtf? Don't they know how to take care of their pets. I had my dog for 6 years. He is still alive. No coyote snatched him or was near anything explosive. Martha is right though. Damn take better care of your pets. But its hard to get a new dog after one dies. Make you not want another because you're afraid it might die again(it will)but it hurts.
In this case, the dog was the victim of Jessica's carelessness. Everyone makes mistakes and it's a very sad thing to lose a pet. However Jessica should not have let her dog run lose in an area where coyotes could get her. Martha is right. Jessica is at fault here, and by saying so doesn't make Martha a "cold-hearted bytch" who is "too full of herself to care about anyone else". I mean really, come on people.
Ok a little harsh don't you all think? I'm a huge animal lover, but clearly Jessica wouldn't want to see her dog snatched from her yard. Have some compassion and stop judging. Jessica, having lost a pet my thoughts are with you! Hopefully in due time you will be able to open your heart and home to another deserving dog. Lots of rescue pups out there that need homes right now!
absolutely. our animals depend on us to be safe, thats why they call tehm DOMESTIC ANIMALS. they depend on us like a small child would.
Nothing wrong with Martha thinking she should have been more vigilante, and there is nothing wrong with Jessica hoping her dog will turn up.
I think Martha Stewart is a cold-hearted Bytch. I don't even like dogs but I can't image what Jessica could have done once the coyote grabbed the dog. Maybe she wasn't expecting a coyote to show up. The animal could have attacked her. I am not particularly a Jessica fan but I have nothing against her. Martha is stupid. Her statement was insensitive. I guess if something tragic happened to her daughter she would immediately go out a get a replacement. I can't stand her.
Jessica is a human being just like anyone who decided to post a mean comment here....the difference is that she isn't bashing you for YOUR stupidity...you just do it because you don't have to look her in the eye while you say it. I doubt whether you would want a camera tracking your every move or reporters noting every comment you said for the world to read. You'd end up looking the part of the idiot instead of Jessica. Don't have a pet yourself? Lucky animals don't have to live with you....you're too full of yourself to care about anyone BUT yourself.
I think Martha Stewart is right...Jessica should find another dog. How about Jessica adopts a rescued dog from a shelter? Or...is she too stuck up for that? My 4 dogs and 3 cats were all rescued and it's one of the greatest caring things you can do. I think the public will forgive her stupidity if she rescues her next pet. Hopefully she has learned from this horrible experience.
Among many of Martha Stewart's expertness is being a guru about being watchfull; Law enforcement put ankle braclet to track her while under house arrest in case she wondered off !
Jessica has gotten at least three major articles, plus a slideshow on her "tough year", thanks to the coyote killing Daisy. Pimpdaddy Joe couldn't have planned it any better....

So her fans are A-holes because we know the poor dog was killed by the coyote she herself saw take daisy.
you people are so mean and i don't think martha stewart needs to tell someone so publicly something they more than likely already know --
TO: September 17, 2009 - 7:03pm Anonymous Says: "who was given to Simpson by ex Nick Lachey five years ago."... Hmmm...interesting, could Nick Lachey knew that he needs to get Jessica off his back so he decided to buy her a dog so she devote her time to it? My husband said he used to do that with his girlfriends, so of a farewell parting gift. ----------- I HOPE YOU GET THE NEXT PARTING GIFT UNGRATEFUL BITCH - HE GAVE HER THE DOG AS A TOKEN OF HIS LOVE, I HIGHLY DOUBT HE WOULD WISH IT EATEN BY A COYOTE - YOUR DAY WILL COME - SMART MOVE BY NOT PUTTING YOUR NAME IN HERE LOSER
Wow, it's so unfortunate that there are people that would take their time out to only leave negative comments on somthing of this nature. I'm sure Jessica is deeply hurt by this and messing with someones emotions like that is just not right, if you dont want to hear or read about it go somewhere else. Jessica, Ur in my prayers.
The way Jessica felt while she watched her dog be torn away by coyotes is the EXACT same feeling I get every time I have been forced to watch her perform ANYTHING...Horrifying, absoultely whorifying!
I wouldn't give up hope either. You never know, you hear stories all the time about finding lost pets. I hope they find Daisy.
DOGS ARE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER THAN PEOPLE! JESSICA DONT GIVE UP HOPE.
