Bouncing back! Meghan Trainor rebounded with a perfect performance on Good Morning America on Friday, May 13, after taking a scary fall on stage at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon the night before.
The 22-year-old pop star nailed all her dance moves on the morning show and stunned in a sequined blue dress and slightly less dangerous heels. She sang her new hit single, “No,” to promote her new album, Thank You, which was released on Friday.
“I’m feeling it today. I’m feeling little bruises everywhere,” she told GMA’s Robin Roberts. “It was great. I actually got up and was like, ‘Let me do it again,’ but I looked at it and that was the better performance, so I was like, ‘Ah, just keep it!’”
The Grammy winner took a tumble at the very end of her musical performance on Jimmy Fallon after she tried to grab onto the mic stand but fell flat on her back. Luckily, Fallon came to her rescue and lay down beside her laughing, and then later helped her to her feet.
She also addressed the wipeout on Twitter, writing, “Might have fell down… but I KILLED that sh-t hahaha #keepinitreal thank you @fallontonight.”
Earlier this week, the body-positive artist pulled her music video for “Me Too” after she realized her waist had been Photoshopped to look slimmer. “They made me skinnier than the dancers next to me who are dancers,” she said on GMA. “I didn’t want that song to be the new anthem for Photoshop, but it obviously is still a big issue and we’re still talking about it.”
