“It is wonderful to be here to be here today with you and with my husband. I am very proud of him,” Melania told the crowd. “He’s kind. He has a great heart. He’s tough. He’s smart. He’s a great negotiator. He’s telling the truth. He’s a great leader. He’s fair.”

The retired model and potential First Lady of the United States then went on to explain that Trump, 69, is a great supporter of women — regardless of his former attacks on ladies including Heidi Cruz (the wife of political rival Ted Cruz), Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly and even supermodel-turned-TV star Heidi Klum, not to mention his eyebrow-raising remarks about abortion.

“As you know now, when you attack him he will punch back 10 times harder no matter who you are — a man or a woman,” the Slovenia native, 45, said, defending Donald’s derogatory comments aimed at females. “He treats everyone equal. He’s a fighter, and if you elect him to be your president he will fight for you and our country. He will work for you and with you, and together we will make America strong and great again.”

Back in January, Melania — who shares a son, Barron, 10, with Donald — told Us Weekly in an exclusive cover story interview that she fully supports her husband’s aspiration to take over the Oval Office, but admitted that she doesn’t always see eye-to-eye with the ex-Celebrity Apprentice host.

“I give him ideas, and I give him my opinions,” the designer of QVC’s Melania Timepieces & Fashion Jewelry line told Us at the time. “Some stuff he listens to.”

“Do I agree with everything he says? No,” she added. “I have my own opinions too, and I tell him that. Sometimes he takes it in and listens, and sometimes he doesn’t. But it is who he is, I don’t want to change him. He’s an adult, he knows what the consequences could be.”
