Michael Douglas' mother, Diana Douglas Webster, died at age 92 on Saturday, July 4

Diana Douglas Webster has died at the age of 92, Variety reports. The mother of Oscar winner Michael Douglas passed away from cancer on Friday, July 3.

The Devonshire, Bermuda, native got her acting start in the late 1940s, and appeared in shows such as The Cowboys, N.Y.P.D., Days of Our Lives, The Waltons, Dynasty, The West Wing, and The Paper Chase.

The stage actress also appeared in over 20 films throughout her career. She’s perhaps best known for her work in Planes, Trains and Automobiles, and It Runs in the Family.

Webster was married to Kirk Douglas from 1943 to 1951; the pair also are parents to son Joel Douglas. She was married to actor Bill Darrid for 36 years until his death in 1992.

The actress is survived by her third husband, Donald Albert Webster, her sons Michael and Joel, daughter-in-law Catherine Zeta-Jones, and three grandchildren. (Michael publicly battled with tongue cancer back in 2010.) A memorial service in L.A. is planned.
