Don't Stop Believin' this romance is real!
Neal Schon proposed to Michaele Salahi onstage Sunday night in Baltimore, Md. -- and she said yes.
"We are both excited and in love. We're happy that we shared with all who were there last night -- it was emotional, moving and loving," Schon, whose solo album THE CALLING is out October 22, tells Us Weekly. "I'm glad Michaele's mother and family were there. Once in a lifetime!"
According to the Washington Post, the Journey guitarist got down on one knee during his concert at the Lyric and popped the question to the former Real Housewives of D.C. star. After the crowd applauded the newly engaged couple, the band played "Faithfully" to celebrate.
Michaele, 47, and Schon, 58, began dating in September 2011 after the reality star ran away from husband Tareq Salahi, 43, and filed for divorce. Michaele told the Daily Beast in September 2011 that she previously dated Schon in the late '90s, but "I chose Tareq over Neal because I thought life would be less stressful living on a vineyard in Virginia. Life on the road with a rock band… well, I thought I might not have been able to keep up."
The former couple reunited at a concert and began texting each other "for a while" behind Tareq's back.
"I'm very happy, very happy after waiting for her for 15 years," Schon told the Daily Beast. "Now I want to get beyond all this media hype that [Michaele's estranged husband] Tareq has put out there. It's really quite embarrassing."
When Michaele ran away with Schon, Tareq initially believed she had been kidnapped. In his divorce papers, Tareq stated, "Due to the abandonment of the marriage and adultery by Michaele, I [Tareq] have suffered both emotional and physical harm."
