Nick Cannon: Mariah "Would Love" to Join American Idol

-- Now that Simon Cowell and Kara DioGuardi are out, would pop diva Mariah Carey ever consider becoming a judge on American Idol? "She talks about it. She says, 'I would love to do that,'" her husband Nick Cannon, 29, says. "She is one of the greatest singers of our time; she would be great. I don't know if she has enough time, though, but if they could work with her schedule, I know she would love to do Idol. Let's start the campaign!" [OMG! via The Hollywood Reporter]
-- It sure pays to put your lives in front of the cameras -- just ask Snooki and Kate Gosselin! After recently renegotiating her MTV contract, Jersey Shore's pint-sized reality star, 22, now earns $30,000 per episode. But that's nothing compared to Gosselin, 35, who makes an estimated $250,000 an episode while shooting Kate Plus 8. TV's biggest earner, though, is none other than troubled actor Charlie Sheen, who makes a whopping $1.25 million an episode for Two and a Half Men. [Star Pulse]
-- After Prop. 8 was overturned in California last week (which previously denied homosexuals the right to marry), Lady Gaga felt so inspired by the news that she immediately began penning new music. "I felt like it was a revolution, a gunshot went off. It was so exciting when it happened. For me, it was a moment that indicates it can happen in every state now," the singer, 24, says. "I went right into the studio and I kept writing. [My album] kind of is done, but I can't stop writing music. I don't know what I'm going to do. I might have to put out two records." [MTV]
-- Harry Potter's Daniel Radcliffe is on the prowl! The single actor, 21, dishes on his recent breakup and his new single life in the September issue of Out magazine. "I was in a relationship with somebody for just about three years, and we broke up just shortly before we hit that mark," Radcliffe says. "At the moment, I'm just being single and running around chasing girls. I'm not getting too many responses, but, yes, I’m having a go." [Perez Hilton]
-- Nicolas Cage has nothing but nice things to say about Mad Men's January Jones, his co-star in the upcoming film The Hungry Rabbit Jumps. "I think she’s going to be a very big movie star," Cage, 46, gushes. "She's just wonderful. In fact, I want to talk to her because I think we should work together again. It's a good chemistry and there’s something about her that's compelling and dangerous to watch." [Just Jared]

I think Mariah would make it fun & also a great judge. She knows what it takes to get be on top & also the down side. Sad that Jennifer Lopez has to be such a DIVA. She could have added something special to the show too. It's Sad that so many stars think WAY too highly of themselves.
Kevin and Jodi Kreider Sell Out Kate Gosselin, Join Team Jon October 27th, 2009 4:29 PM by Free Britney Tags: Kate Gosselin, Jon Gosselin, Gloria Allred You'll rarely hear the THG staff take Kate Gosselin's side in anything, but when her own brother, Kevin Kreider, sells her out on CBS' Early Show, well ... We're still not on Kate's side, per se. We're just saying what a d!ck move it is by Kevin Kreider and loser wife Jodi to procure 15 minutes at her expense. The two have recently joined forces with Team Jon Gosselin (they officially are Team Jon Gosselin, as we can't imagine there are many other members). Their mission: Free the Gosselin Eight! Kevin and Jodi Kreider took to the morning show today to point out, as they have in the past, that they think the Jon and Kate Plus 8 should be canned. No one asked for the their opinion on the matter, mind you, nor does Jon Gosselin give a $h!t about anyone but himself. But here we are, just the same. They even brought Gloria Allred, famed lawyer and child welfare advocate who loves microphones and cameras even more than they do, along for fun. The backstabbing Gosselin relatives promotly threw Kate under the bus pretending to care about their poor, exploited nieces and nephews. Mmm hmm.
I would totally start watching AI again if Mariah became a judge. She has a great voice and tons of experience, so she's worthy of one of the judge's seats. Plus, I think she'd bring back the flightiness of Paula Abdul, so we'd be getting the best of both worlds! The only downside I see to Mariah being a judge is Randy Jackson. I can see his annoying points skyrocketing when he tries to keep talking to Mariah about all the songs and projects they worked on. He was bad enough about it when she wasn't there. Can you imagine how it would be if she was sitting right next to him every week? I think AI just needs a whole new, competent panel. Mariah would be a great place to start.
Simon is gone...Idol is over.
yuck...great voice, UGLY personality! NOT a fan of Mariah. She deserves none of my time.
Mariah Carey is a fantastic idea. Not only can she sing but she's thoroughly entertaining. not that I want her to show up drunk..but does anyone remember her Palm springs speech from earlier this year?
How about Mariah and her ex, Tommy Mottola? I've heard his name bandied about as Simon's replacement. Could you imagine them on the panel together, disagreeing on things? Awkward!
mariah as an idol judge? i like that. she was terrific as a mentor during my favorite season, season 7.
