She became a star in the '90s thanks to an iconic red lifeguard's swimsuit on Baywatch -- but most recently, at age 46, Pamela Anderson made, er, waves at a beach in Biarritz, France wearing just bikini bottoms and no top. Anderson sat down with Ellen DeGeneres on the Thursday, Oct. 17 episode of ELLEN to explain those topless photos, taken during Anderson's frolic with her ex-husband Rick Salomon.

"If I knew there were photographers there I would have taken the bottoms off too!" Anderson claimed, adding that "nobody cares" in France about public nudity. When DeGeneres pressed the actress whether she and film producer Salomon, 45, were back together (they annulled their marriage in 2008 after about a year together), the bombshell was coy.

"I say we're best friends . . . with benefits," she said, adding, "I don't want to meet anyone else."

DeGeneres observed that the star keeps "going back to the same guys. You're married then you go back." (Before Salomon, Anderson's first two husbands were sex tape partner Tommy Lee and then Kid Rock.)

"It's recycling--no, I'm very happy. We're happy. He's a great guy," Anderson said of Salomon.

The blonde will be pounding the pavement in the Big Apple next month when she runs her very first New York Marathon. Anderson's been training for the big day for about six months.

"I started running and I hated it of course everyone hates running for the first mile," she said. "If you're running two miles or twenty miles it always hurts. Now I live it. I look forward to it. It's really good. It clears my head."

Anderson's doing the run for "Haiti," she explain. "I'm doing it for a good cause."
