Patti Stanger has met her match in David Krause! Even so, the Millionaire Matchmaker star denied a recent reports claiming she's set to wed the mortgage banker, whom she met through an online dating site nearly a year ago.
"We're not engaged yet," 51-year-old Stanger told Good Morning America's Lara Spencer on Wednesday, March 20. "But maybe watch the finale and you'll see something," she added teasingly.
Stanger also cleared up confusion about the diamond jewelry on her finger "I have a promise ring," she explained. "We moved in together pretty soon, so that's the reason why."
Krause, who has two teenagers, is still a bit uncomfortable with cameras following their every move on Stanger's long-running reality show. "That was just so crazy because I've never experienced anything like it before in my life," he told Spencer.
In fact, during their second date at L.A.'s Getty Museum, 44-year-old Krause was surprised when fans approached Stanger and asked her to take pictures with them. "I didn't ask any questions, because I figured she'd let me know when she was ready," the former baseball player explained. "And that night I raced home and Googled [her]."
"I felt like such a moron for not knowing who she was," Krause continued. "I remember calling her the next day, saying, 'My God, I feel like such a fool.'"
Stanger said she was inspired to try online dating after her pals Jenny McCarthy and Ricki Lake gave it a shot. "They said, 'Listen, I didn't meet The One, but I had a great time,'" the slimmed-down star recalled. "You get older in life and you're like, 'Where do I meet people anymore?' Everybody's hooked up and there weren't that many catches in L.A. I said, 'I have to expand my net,' and I expanded it to Orange County. For an L.A. person, that's a big deal!"
During their first-ever joint TV interview, Stanger and Krause answered a round of "Perfect Match" trivia questions about each other. The pair got all three questions right. Said Spencer, "I'm thinking this is going to work!"
