More than a year after his tragic death, Paul Walker's work lives on. The latest trailer for the upcoming Furious 7 arrived on Wednesday, Feb. 4, and it features the late star in one of his most beloved roles.
Walker, who died in a November 2013 car crash at the age of 40, stars in the seventh Fast and Furious installment as his character Brian O'Conner. The actor passed away before production of the action flick was completed, so his character's remaining scenes in Furious 7 were carried out by his brothers Cody and Caleb Walker.
In the latest look at the film, which is set to hit theaters on April 3, Walker appears alongside veteran Fast and Furious stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
As a shot of Walker is shown, Diesel as Dominic Toretto says, "The most important thing in life will always be the people right here, right now. That's what's real."
Franchise newbie Jason Statham is introduced as the villainous "big bad brother" of Owen Shaw (Luke Evans). He takes on Dominic and his pals as scenes of explosions, gun battles, and races are shown.
Originally scheduled for a July 2014 release, Furious 7 was rescheduled and reworked following Walker's death. His costars have publicly expressed their grief and shock at the loss over the past year, and Diesel shared a shot of himself with Walker when the new release date was announced.
"The last scene we filmed together..." he wrote. "There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared… in the film we were now completing... the magic captured... and, in just how far we’ve come."
