Amanda Seyfried has found herself a new man!
The Les Miserables actress has been quietly seeing Dexter actor Desmond Harrington since late July, but the twosome made their relationship public by holding hands on Monday.
Previously avoiding being photographed together, Seyfried, 26, and Harrington, 35, went for a walk hand-in-hand in NYC’s East Village. Seyfried wore tiny denim shorts, a long white shirt, black cardigan, combat boots and dark sunglasses for the outing. Harrington, who carried an umbrella in case of bad weather, showed off the tattoo on his arm in a large gray shirt.
A source tells Us Weekly that Harrington’s Dexter costar Jennifer Carpenter had the idea to set the couple up. In early July, Seyfried and Carpenter, 32, were spotted hiking together in Los Angeles.
After Seyfried split from British actor Dominic Cooper, 34, in 2010 after a three year relationship, she began dating a slew of hot Hollywood stars.
Shortly after her relationship with Cooper ended, Seyfried began dating Reese Witherspoon‘s ex Ryan Phillippe, 37. The couple ended their relationship after seven months together in June 2011.
“It was mutual,” the source says. “They were never fully committed.”
In September 2011, the Big Love actress started a romance with Andrew Joblon, an NYC-based real estate exec. That fling ended rather quickly, and Seyfried started seeing actor Josh Hartnett in January 2012. But five months later, the couple began “cooling down.”
“She’s kind of a super clingy girlfriend and he doesn’t want that,” one Hartnett, 34, insider told Us Weekly. “He really likes his space and she wasn’t happy about that.”
