Rachel McAdams, Jake Gyllenhaal Party, Dance With Southpaw Cast: Exclusive Details
Just a couple of friends kicking up their heels! Rachel McAdams and Jake Gyllenhaal may not be dating, but they did hit the dance floor together while filming in Indiana, PA. An insider exclusively tells Us Weekly that the actors partied with the cast and crew of their upcoming film, Southpaw, after they finished shooting in the area last month.
The costars let loose at Brenda & Ken of Wolfies Pub with about 60 others following a private dinner at Donatellos Restaurant.
"The owner of Donatellos bought them all a round of shots when they first walked in the door to get the party started. Rachel and Jake, along with the director and crew, were on the dance floor and mixing it up," the source tells Us.
McAdams, 35, sipped on a Grey Goose martini and later switched to a Maker's Mark on the rocks during the fun night out. Gyllenhaal, for his part, stuck to Guinness—that is, when he wasn't doing Trey Songz's Wobble Dance! "He wasn't bad at all," the source notes.
When it got too crowded, the costars then moved to a corner table for more privacy and eventually left around 2 a.m. "They were still having fun but mostly just hung out and talked," the insider says.
McAdams and Gyllenhaal first fueled dating rumors when they were photographed having dinner together at Pittsburgh eatery Meat & Potatoes last month. Around that same time, they caught a match between boxer Miguel Cotto and Sergio Martinez at Madison Square Garden in NYC. (Gyllenhaal plays a boxer in the film opposite McAdams, who plays his wife.)
"They were there to watch the fight and chat with the trainers and people involved with the sport to get a better idea of the stress and where people's mindsets are at before the fight starts," the insider told Us. "I think Rachel met one of the boxers' wives or girlfriends, too, for her role."
McAdams is currently dating boyfriend Patrick Sambrook. As Us exclusively revealed, Gyllenhaal got back together with ex-girlfriend Alyssa Miller in February after a brief split.
