Update: Real OC Housewife Headed for Divorce, Accused of Adultery

Here's a not-so-sunny forecast in the OC: Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Barney has been served divorce papers by husband Simon Barney. In papers posted at RadarOnline, Simon contends that his wife "has been verbally abusive and has committed acts of disloyalty and infidelity."

The couple have been married for 11 years and have three children, ages four, nine and ten; Tamra, 42, has an older son, Ryan, 23, from a previous marriage. Tamra's marriage troubles have been documented on the current season of Bravo's hit reality series. The strong-willed pair have butted heads in recent episodes over financial troubles, Tamra's desire to re-enter the workforce, her troubled son Ryan, and her friendship with fellow housewife Vicki Gunvalson.

RadarOnline reports that Tamra had moved out of their shared home earlier this week into an apartment -- but had been unaware that Simon was filing divorce papers.

Update: A rep for Bravo tells UsMagazine.com that Tamra has "no comment" at this time -- until next week, that is. "She is going to share her story first on Bravo's Watch What Happens Show hosted by Andy Cohen, airing next Thursday at midnight."
In a BravoTV.com blog post Dec. 11, Simon defended his bad rep as a "controlling evil husband," as he puts it.
"I have been presented over and over as being controlling. Yes, it’s true! I admit it again. I am controlling! Controlling the damage and protecting my family. If you have seen my wife in the last few seasons, you know that if I was controlling I must suck at it."

He added: "Being on a reality show is not my priority in life. My wife and children's happiness and well being is."

i think that the couple should leave the show for awhile. maybe the pressure of the cameras in their faces has had something to do with their marriage problems

I agree with Mia, Tamra is getting what she deserved! She did work hard for this divorce. Cece, Your point being? Are you trying to say that we are not smart enough to realize the editing process of a show? How about that folks? Cece thinks we are stupid. Interesting.
Quite frankly - the public couldn't care less. These people need to go and find a life for themselves. They're an "accident" going somewhere to happen . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Ha! she's in an apartment??!! Where's her best friend Vicki now?? I'm sure she could spare some room at her house if she were a true friend! Tamra is evil and jealous and needs some major help...very, very insecure and only cares about material stuff and being the center of attention.

Hey Step D You are right about Vicky seeming to appreciate Don now. He's a great guy and for a long time Jenna was the only one that noticed. I think Vicky "fell in love with him again" because of all those "hes my next husband" comments from Jenna.
Does this mean that Gretchen will date Simon next?
Yes, Simon seems a bit controlling but with good reason. Tamra wasn't complaonging when she was getting the expensive jewelry or when she was in clubs. She got what she deserved being so judgmental and mean of Gretchen. She was so busy worried and jealous about someone else's life she forgot to look in the mirror. Ungrateful wife! She deserves getting those papers - she's earned them.
Divorce is always tragic, especially when kids are involved and especially if the papers are any kind of surprise. Tamra may be drama, but at least she's not boring to watch:) My heart goes out to her.
I like Tamara and I agree that Simon TRIES to control every aspect of her life, I don't see how theyve stayed together this long.
Seriously..people it's tv it's edited and as if we all see everything done let alone said..get real! That Simon first of all needs to pull his head out of his ass...controlling, is beyond what he is and he knows it! The poor guy show is over thank god and I hope he goes away! They all live in an unreality reality!!! Let's face it to down size to what they have I would take any day..yeah its the economy, and poor Gretchen what does she actually do for a living before and after the old guy passed? Seriously...her with the old guy, oh no not about the $$$$!!! Does anyone remember earlier seasons when Tamra was still selling real estate, how sleezy she was and all her inappropriate comments to buyers. Jenna commented on it. I think that anyone who thinks a husband should be ok with a son virtually stealing their car when their gone especially as he didn't have a license is nuts. Ryan's attitude that Simon should get over it doesn't have a clue what liability is. I don't know what wrecked their marriage but it seemed like Simon was always cleaning up Ryan's crap with little or not thanks from Tamra or Ryan. Tamra is mean. As for Gretchen, if Jeff was okay with it and his kids are ok with everything then we all need to butt out.
Tamara is a two faced, jealous women. Jealous of anybody that is attractive and get attention from people whether male or female. I agree with Simon!!! She only wants to be freinds with Grecthen because she wants to be just like her, she wants to run around and have a good time. Tarama is plain white trash with a bank account!

I think Simon watched how nasty his wife was to Gretchen last season, trying to get her wasted & all, and was sick at how evil she was...I am certain it affected his business dealings & anyone with a wife like that, with little kids, would want to take "control" of the situation. Simon was more jovial until he saw his wife turn into something that disgusted him. Who would want the mother of their children acting that way- on TV no less! No wonder why Ryan is a failure- she can't PARENT!
