Paws-itively wonderful! Wednesday, March 23, marks the 10th annual National Puppy Day, which was founded by celebrity pet and home lifestyle expert Colleen Paige in 2006 to celebrate all the love and joy that pooches bring to their humans’ lives. While all the sloppy kisses are certainly worth feting, National Puppy Day is also meant to bring attention to adopting rather than buying loyal four-legged friends.
While many bold-faced names shared their love for their dogs, internet-famous pooches also chimed in on social media, including Boo and Digby Van Winkle. And in the case of the adorably snaggle-toothed Tuna, his owner took the day as an opportunity to remind the dog’s 1.7 million Instagram fans of the joys of pet adoption.
Does anyone remember when Tuna was a four month old puppy and needed a mom, a home and a lot of love? I do!!! 😍😍😍 This was the first time I saw him and I immediately knew I loved him so adopting him was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life! So thankful for this little cutie...who is now 5 1/2 and so well loved, not just by me, but by all of you too! 😘 #babytuna #nationalpuppyday #tunameltsmyheart #allthetime ps: he's been wearing sweaters from day one 😊
