No jokes were spared during Saturday Night Live’s 40th anniversary special on Sunday, Feb. 15. Bill Cosby, who has been accused by almost 30 women of sexual assault, was mocked by Kenan Thompson during the skit.
“It’s our video daily double and it’s about alcoholic beverages,” Will Ferrell, perfectly portraying Alex Trebek, began before the Cosby Show alum got slammed. “Let’s hear what this celebrity has to say about his favorite cocktail.”
SNL vet Thompson then appeared on the screen dressed as the star. While rambling, Thompson shook a cocktail shaker before Ferrell immediately started apologizing to the faux audience.
“Oh dear God, no. Oh dear God, no. I’m very sorry. We filmed that in June,” he said.
The spoof was obviously in reference to the numerous accusations against Cosby, including Janice Dickinson’s claims he drugged and raped her back in 1982. During an interview with CNN, the model said that Cosby gave her a pill she thought was for menstrual cramps. “The last thing I remember was blacking out and Cosby mounting me like the monster he was,” she recalled. “And I was thinking, ‘What the heck?’ I remember passing out, but more specifically waking up. There was a lot of pain downstairs. There was semen all over me and that my pajama bottoms were off and my top was open.”
Just last week, two more former models, Linda Brown and Lise-Lotte Lublin, came forward and accused Cosby of drugging them as well. "He flipped me over and sexually assaulted me. I felt like a rag doll," Brown said, claiming the incident happened more than 45 years ago when Cosby gave her a drink in a Toronto hotel room in 1969. “I had no idea how my clothes came off or how or why I was in his bed."
Other stars portrayed in the skit included Kate McKinnon’s Justin Bieber, Darrell Hammond’s Sean Connery, Alec Baldwin’s Tony Bennett, Norm Macdonald’s Burt Reynolds, Taran Killam’s Christoph Waltz, and yes, Jim Carrey’s Matthew McConaughey.
