Making progress. In a new interview, Sofia Vergara gave a health update about her husband, Joe Manganiello, following his hospitalization last month for a reported case of appendicitis.
“He's OK," the 43-year-old actress told Entertainment Tonight at Modern Family's ATAS Emmy Event on Monday, May 2. "He had a little problem, but now he's good."
On April 17, Vergara’s Magic Mike star hubby, 39, posted a sweet tweet dedicated to his supportive spouse. “I love my wife,” he wrote.
Asked what prompted Manganiello’s adorable online gesture, the Colombian-born actress explained to ET, “I'm always very special with him, so it must have been one of my normal days,” before adding with a laugh, “That’s how I am.”
As previously reported, Manganiello entered the hospital in mid-April for an appendix removal; but when doctors began to perform the surgery, they reportedly ran into complications.
The True Blood alum dropped out of a charity gala on Sunday, April 17, at the last minute due to unknown “health issues.” A source told Us Weekly at the time that Manganiello is expected to make a full recovery as his condition is manageable and nothing new.
Before news of his health scare broke, Manganiello made headlines for his exit from History Channel's upcoming drama series Six. A network rep confirmed to Us that production for the project has been delayed as Manganiello’s role is being recast.
Vergara and Manganiello tied the knot in a stunning Palm Beach, Florida, wedding ceremony in November 2015. While she doesn’t share any children with Manganiello, Vergara is mom to son Manolo, 23, who she had with her childhood sweetheart and ex-husband, Joe Gonzalez.
