Super Bowl XLIX Roundup: Parties, Events, and Nightlife

While not all the celebrities will make it to the University of Phoenix stadium in Arizona this year, there are plenty of other hot events and parties happening for Super Bowl XLIX. Here’s where stars like Drake, Charli XCX, John Legend, and Idina Menzel will be hanging out starting Friday Jan. 30.  

The Hottest Parties

The Hennessy Lounge will be hosting events for the entire Super Bowl weekend, complete with complimentary Hennessy specialty cocktails during the days by the pool deck, and performances by Jamie Foxx, Nelly, and Drake in the evenings.

Two of the nation’s elite nightclub chains, CAKE and TAO, are teaming up to host the Big Game Weekend’s hottest events. Sure to be packed with celebs, EDL Management Group’s CAKE Nightclub will partner with the popular TAO nightlife brand to host four evenings of parties starting Thursday, Jan. 29 all the way until the big game on Sunday, Feb. 1. 

CBS Radio is hosting their 2nd Annual “The Night Before” Concert at the US Airways Center in Phoenix. There will be an exclusive concert one the eve of the Super Bowl, where country’s megastars Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, and Florida Georgia Line will be hanging out and performing.

On Saturday, DIRECTV will host none other than worldwide superstar Rihanna, who takes the stage at DIRECTV Super Saturday Night Co-Hosted by Mark Cuban’s AXS TV and Pro Football Hall of Famer Michael Strahan. The VIP event is invitation-only and will be held inside DIRECTV Super Fan Stadium at the Pendergast Family Farm in Glendale, Arizona’s Sports and Entertainment District, right across the street from the big game.

For the first time ever, Brent Bolthouse’s Neon Carnival has partnered with Tequila Don Julio and 10AK to bring one of the hottest parties to the Big Game Weekend. After five years at music’s most celebrated festival, Coachella, the legendary outdoor carnival is making its way from the desert of Indio, Calif. to the desert of Phoenix, AZ for an exclusive event on Friday, Jan. 30. Besides the rides, carnival games and a bespoke mobile bar with specialty cocktails, there will be music by DJ Politik and DJ Ruckus amongst others.

On Friday, Jan 30. multiplatinum selling singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley will be returning to his hometown to host a star-studded Pre Super Bowl bash at his bar Whiskey Row. Guests will include country stars and friends, Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Line.

Did someone say pizza? This year VH1 and Papa John’s are teaming up to bring Fall Out Boy and Charli XCX to headline the “VH1 + Papa John’s Super Bowl Blitz: A Concert for the Troops.” Nick Lachey will be hosting and the concert will kick off on Friday, Jan. 30 at 9 p.m. on VH1.

Where will supercouple Chrissy Teigen and John Legend be on Friday? #ESPNtheParty with other celebs like Jamie Foxx, Idina Menzel, and Ludacris. The event is taking over Scottsdale with their annual Super Bowl Party where top athletes and celebs will listen to Questlove spinning the hottest hits.

Rolling Stone will host its VIP event on Saturday, Jan. 31 with entertainment and marketing agency, Talent Resources Sports. Steven Tyler will be performing a show-stopping set along with a special opening performance by Grammy-nominated 2014-breakout pop artist Charli XCX. Celebrity showman Jeff Beacher will emcee the event while music will be provided by world-renowned DJ Cassidy.

Sports and Other Events

The annual Madden Bowl tournament in Scottsdale will feature a one-on-one format where four NFL superstars will face off in Madden NFL on Xbox One. The players competing in this year’s Madden Bowl are LeSean McCoy (RB, Philadelphia Eagles), Colin Kaepernick (QB, San Francisco 49ers), Patrick Peterson (CB Arizona Cardinals), and Alfred Morris (RB, Washington Redskins). This year the games will be played in Madden Ultimate Team mode, and the players will build fantasy teams comprised of both modern NFL stars and legends. The host for the event is Kevin Hart (star of The Wedding Ringer) and stars like Nelly, Florida Georgia Line, and Lil Jon will come out to perform.

Looking for an event for the ladies? Supermodels Adriana Lima, Behati Prinsloo, Erin Heatherton, and Lily Aldridge will host the 12th annual Leather & Laces party presented by AXXIS Sports & Entertainment. The star-studded two-night event will feature hosts and Victoria’s Secret Angels Prinsloo and Aldridge on Friday night, with Lima and Heatherton hosting Saturday night’s bash. Each night will also feature a packed lineup of live entertainment including performances by Gabe Saporta and Victoria Asher of Cobra Starship, Cirque du Soleil and mentalist Jim Karol

MAXIM is back with their annual Super Bowl fete on Saturday, Jan 31, with beats by DJ Vice, snacks by Popchips, Dos Equis’ “quirky cirque style performances,” and other big twists. Tabasco has teamed up with The Food Network’s superstar celebrity chef Aaron Sanchez, who has curated a special menu of hors d’oeuvres available alongside spicy Tabasco specialty cocktails. This year MAXIM is also partnering with legendary nightlife hotspot, Marquee, where celebrities, MAXIM models and special guest Nick Cannon will party the night away before the big game.

John Terzian, Brian Toll, and Markus Molinari again bring their Pop Up Bootsy Bellows series to Super Bowl Weekend on Saturday by hosting hip hop royalty Drake at the W Scottsdale with sounds by Brody Jenner and William Lifestyle.
