Shake it off, Tay! Taylor Swift posted an Instagram Story explaining that her night (Wednesday, September 15) had been “an emotional rollercoaster” — but not for the reason you might think.
In the series of clips, the newly single pop superstar’s bestie Martha Hunt is seen petting her cat Meredith during their girls’ night at Swift’s home. “She really loves you,” Swift, 26, says. “This is a beautiful moment.” She wrote on the video, “Martha melting Meredith’s ice cold cat heart.”
The Victoria’s Secret model, 27, and the feline even started taking selfies together, and it seems like the “Wildest Dreams” singer got a little jealous. “They’re taking pictures together now. She never takes pictures with me. Look at them,” Swift narrates.
The Grammy winner captioned the video, “Meredith loves only Martha and no one else.”
“Tonight has been an emotional rollercoaster,” Swift wrote on the final clip of Hunt sipping wine as Meredith happily lounged on her lap.
The supermodel also posted her own Instagram Story of her BFF’s kitty drinking water out of the kitchen sink. “This is the weirdest cat ever. She drinks from the faucet,” Hunt says.
The two ladies have been hanging out in NYC after Swift’s recent split from Tom Hiddleston. Swift and Hunt sat front row together to support their pal Gigi Hadid at her Tommy x Gigi collection fashion show, and Swift also third-wheeled Hadid’s date night with Zayn Malik.
As Us Weekly previously reported, the “Shake It Off” singer was the one to end the relationship with Hiddleston, after a whirlwind three months of dating. “Tom wanted the relationship to be more public than she was comfortable with. Taylor knew the backlash that comes with public displays of affection but Tom didn’t listen to her concerns when she brought them up,” a source previously told Us of the split.
