Tyga Dismisses Kylie Jenner Dating Rumors: “It Doesn’t Matter What the World Thinks”

Kylie Jenner and Tyga
Tyga addressed the rumors surrounding his relationship with 17-year-old Kylie Jenner on 92.3 Amp Radio.

One thing is clear: Tyga doesn’t like labels. The 25-year-old rapper has been at the center of the ongoing controversy over his relationship with 17-year-old Kylie Jenner. It all started when Amber Rose, a friend of Tyga’s ex Blac Chyna, called him out in a radio interview on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, sparking a feud between her and Jenner’s older half-sister Khloe Kardashian

“That’s ridiculous. [Tyga] should be ashamed of himself. For sure,” Rose said. “He has a beautiful woman and a baby and left that for a 16-year-old who just turned 17.”

Following Rose’s controversial comments, Tyga publicly claimed he was not dating Jenner on the same radio show. Unfortunately for the “Rack City” emcee, fellow rapper Kanye West (aka Kylie’s brother-in-law) then confirmed the pair were, in fact, dating, telling The Breakfast Club, “I think [Tyga] got in early. I think he was smart.”

The recent series of events sparked a line of questioning during Tyga’s new 92.3 Amp Radio visit, in which host Shoboy brought up the relationship rumors.

“I feel like if I tell the world that I love her or I don’t, it’s on me to dictate that and how I want to keep my friendship or relationship with her,” Tyga vaguely replied. “It doesn’t matter what the world thinks. If you’re around somebody and you love being around that person, that’s all that matters. I don’t think that what anybody could say could change that — how I feel for her as a person. Just being the great person she is, she’s just a good person, she’s got great energy. We’ve got a group of friends that we’ve been hanging out for the longest. I’ve been knowing her and her family for six/seven years. It’s all love there. We’re going to continue to grow.”

But the radio host continued to press, asking if Tyga “loved” Jenner.

Tyga and Blac Chyna
Tyga and Blac Chyna share son King, 2, and were engaged for almost two years until their split in August 2014.

“I love her as a person for sure,” he replied.

“But not romantically speaking?” Shoboy asked.

“I don’t think it really matters,” Tyga said. “If you love being around somebody that’s all that really matters. [The fans] always want to know what’s going on. And I think it’s good for them to stay interested and want to be involved in my life, which I appreciate, but sometimes you’ve got to let the artist live their own personal life.”

These comments come after Tyga posted a close-up selfie of Jenner on Instagram on Feb. 20, writing, “Your beauty never goes unnoticed. One of the best/dopest person in my life.”

Tyga shares son King Cairo Stevenson, 2, with Blac Chyna. The pair got engaged in December 2012 and split in August 2014, shortly after which he was rumored to be with Jenner.
