Whitney Port tells Us Weekly exclusively about her engagement and how she and her former Hills costar Lauren Conrad will be "old married ladies" together

No spinsters here! Whitney Port is set to walk down the aisle — following the lead of her former Hills costar Lauren Conrad. The 28-year-old reality star reveals exclusively to Us Weekly how she spilled the happy news to her close gal pal, and how her hubby-to-be Tim Rosenman popped the question two weeks ago.

"She actually emailed me about something else this week and I hadn't told her yet so I told her," Port told Us of Conrad while filming her new style webseries for Joico hair products on Thursday, Nov. 21. "[Lauren] was like, 'Oh my god we're both going to be old married ladies together!'" she laughed. "It's crazy how the timing worked out."

Port and Conrad, 28, appeared on MTV'S The Hills together from 2006 to 2008. Conrad announced her engagement to Something Corporate rocker turned law student William Tell on her personal blog Oct. 13. And as to be expected, both ladies were ecstatic to accept their proposals!

"I was very surprised!" Port told Us of the special moment. "We were in Australia. I was working out there and brought him along because he'd never been, and he decided to do it out there!" she said of Rosenman. "He was planning a whole ordeal — like possibly taking out a boat and doing this whole thing on the harbor, and then it was like the day before we were leaving and it was really rainy and grey and cold. So everything went down the drainpipe there," she laughed. "So he just did it in our hotel room, he asked me really low key."

"I cried a lot," she added. "I was first screaming, 'No!' out of disbelief. And he was like, 'You mean yes??' And I said, 'Yeah! Of course!'" At the time, Rosenman presented the Whitney Eve collection designer with a stunning oval stone, rose gold band with three rows of diamonds.

As for wedding planning, Port is fine to hand off the reigns to someone else. "My older sister is a wedding planner so I feel like it's going to be smooth sailing," she quipped.
