What an awkward wipeout! It's been two months since Zac Efron broke his jaw at home, but now the That Awkward Moment actor is finally explaining the injury, and why he's looking skinnier on his current press tour.
"I was running through my house and I slipped and fell on my face," Efron, 25, said during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday, Jan. 30.
"Let me start over, because the story starts kind of cool," he continued. "I have a fountain in my house. That's kind of dope, right? So I was running through and slipped on water and hit my chin on the fountain in my house. It's not a big fountain, but it's a fountain in my house."
His younger brother Dylan, 21, was thankfully there at the time, and quickly realized he needed to head to the hospital once he saw the star's face. "It was pretty gnarly," Efron said of getting his jaw wired shut.
The break didn't conflict with working, but it did cause the actor to drop some noticeable weight. "I was drinking foods for six weeks -- only liquid foods. It sucked," he said. "I lost, like, 10-12 pounds."
Us Weekly confirmed last November that the Hollywood heartthrob took a nasty fall at his L.A. home. At the time, his That Awkward Moment costar Michael B. Jordan reassured Us that his buddy was doing just fine after the incident. "I spoke to him. I texted him," Jordan, 26, told Us at an event in NYC on Nov. 12. "He's good. He's as good as can be. He'll be OK!"
