Who needs a ring worth that much? I'd rather use the money for a downpayment on a nice townhome or house. You can find nice rings that cost much less. They may have the money but I think it's wasteful spending.

Stories like this are stupid. Unless the jeweler saw the ring up close there is no way he(or any one else) could accurately appraise it. The cut, the clarity and the color all help to determine the value. You could have a 2 carat stone worth twice as much as a 4 carat stone. If the stone is cut with a wide top it will look bigger, but be worth less. It is the weight of the stone, not the width that determines carat size. As for spending that much on a ring, if they can afford it, why not. Price is a relative thing. At least the ring will hold its value, unlike a pair of designer shoes or a BMW.

How come the ring in comparison to her knuckle makes it look like 1.5 carats tops? My ring is 2.7 carats, and looks much bigger than that. Just curious how they get 4 carats out of that. Unless her hands are giant sized.

70k on a ring?! God forbid she loses it. That is a house for some people. Glad to see that the stars are really having to endure the economy like we are. I am happy she is getting married but do stars really need to live in excess like that? To each his own, but I would rather live comfortably and help give back to those less fortunate. There is a lot more poor people in this world than there are rich.

oh please when your a star 70k is nothing for an engagement ring stars have spent lavishly on engagement rings for decades I believe Elizabeth Taylors engagement ring from her first marriage to Richard Burton was 22 Carts and 1.1 million dollars in 1963 so Americas ring is chump change compaired to that
