Though she's played a princess in a handful of movies, Anne Hathaway says she's more inspired by real-life royalty.

"Can I tell you how grateful I am to Kate Middleton?" the 28-year-old actress tells USA Today. "Because she is such an advocate for dressing like a lady."
The fashion-forward actress says Middleton's understated elegance even inspired her to revamp her own wardrobe.

"I think for a few years that slightly dirty look was adopted by Hollywood -- you know, the stringy hair, homeless thing. And I really tried," Hathaway laughs. "I was like, 'Ok, I'm going to give that a go.' But it doesn't suit me, and I don't suit it. I always looked kind of chubby."

The One Day actress credits the 29-year-old Duchess of Cambridge for proving that skin isn't always in.
"I'm just very grateful to Kate Middleton for making looking appropriate really fun again," Hathaway says. "So right now my fashion choices are all about Kate Middleton."

I love, love this dress on Anne. She is a terrific actress.
Very sexy lady...love the dress.
I really like these two. They both look fantastic!
Anne is usually classy, but I googled her recently and saw that she fell into that ghastly trend trap of wearing transparent shirts. How anyone can walk around posing for photographers with their b@@bs on full display and call it "fashion" is beyond me. I am so thankful for Kate's influence. Ladies should dress like ladies.
I agree, either of these ladies are a great example of sexy, elegant, beautiful, and classy.
I am GRATEFUL that Kate Middleton is showing young women HOW IT'S DONE, too!! Anne Hathaway is a class act as well. Dare I say, Katie Holmes is a class act and in the same category as these ladies.
I found a site where you can get coupons for restaurant called "Printapon" they are on all over the news, search online
Both these very attractive women are absolutely great to look at. Classy.
I still have not recovered from that stunning navy blue â??Jacquentaâ?? dress that Kate wore in Quebec city. So elegant and regal.
Very classy. She looks fantastic!!
Sexy, feminine woman. Very classy, and she is a good Oscar winning actress.
I realize there is way too much coverage of Kate, but in a way it is a good thing...Anne, Emma Stone, Jennifer Garner, Zoe, Miranda Kerr also represent excellent wardrobe choices...they could teach many a young starlet especially those with K's how to dress...
Booo!!! She is so boring to me. Although I agree with and get what she's trying to say.
Anne and Kate both look awesome. Great to see a woman look like a woman instead of a piece of trash. Women insult themselves when it all hangs out like a street corner h00ker!
Anne is gorgeous!
You're mean Amanda. That's a terrible thing to say.
My mother always taught me to dress like a lady, and I'm glad of it! I hate dirty grungy looks....ps that photo still scares me eeeeeek they can never shoot Anne H. far enough away for my liking!!! That cartoonishly clown-like face keeps me awake at night, those giant dead shark eyes and Joker mouth acck back the camera up another 15 feet LOL
There is such a thing as being approprirate for the occasion. After that, it's about what what you look good in and feel comfortable with. Anyone could have the most beautiful dress in the world but if that person personally hates it they won't look good in it. Kate is not completely conservative, either, if anyone remembers some of the photos that have been shown of her and William through the years. But what she wore suited her and that makes all the difference. Anne Hathaway and everyone else needs to learn that style is your own and people look their best when the quit trying to look like someone else.
Well said, Anne!! I love the duchess' fashion choices, especially the choice to rewear her clothing... Dresses weren't meant to hang on a hanger!!
