They’re with her! Ivanka Trump recently purchased a piece of jewelry from the celeb-adored indie label Lady Grey — and got a little more than she ordered in return.

While the brand’s designers, Jill Martinelli and Sabine Le Guyader, did indeed send Trump, 34, the Helix Ear Cuff (it comes in gold and silver; both versions retail for $84) she ordered, they also sent the Trump Organization VP a note with a few choice words.

“Dear Ivanka,” the note, which they shared via Instagram Tuesday, August 16, began. “Thank you so much for your web order! We’re happy to let you know that the proceeds of your sale have been generously donated to The American Immigration Council, the Everytown For Gun Safety Organization and the Hillary Clinton Campaign. We hope you enjoy your new Lady Grey #helixearcuff. Best, Jill & Sabine.” They also added the hashtags #thanksbutnothanks and #payitFORWARD.

As soon as Martinelli and Le Guyader posted the pic, the comments started rolling in — from both sides of the aisle. Some supported the hit at Trump’s father Donald‘s presidential campaign. “I don’t see any hate in their note, at all,” one commenter wrote. “They simply stated that they will be donating her purchase price. As for posting it publicly, Ivanka is a public figure by her own choice. And a controversial one, at that. People have said far worse about her on far bigger platforms.”

Another added, “What a courageous principled move! Trump supporters can’t understand putting values before profits and wouldn’t recognize a principle if they tripped over it on instagram. Oh yeah….” And one more simply stated, “You guys are awesome!”

However, many found the note to be disrespectful to the mom of three. “S–tty way to do business. No class at all!” one said, while another argued, “A successful company wouldn’t have to stoop to such a low level to promote their business. Sad and they said a lot about themselves with this.”

One more felt that the business lacked principle. “…For the majority on here [the note] IS very passive aggressive and catty,” the commenter said. “Just donate the purchase money and be done with it. This post was done for no other reason than publicity at the cost of a paying customer, that’s bad business anywhere no matter what their beliefs.”

In their defense, the designers told The Cut, “The note was included in her package and shipped last week directly from our studio in Brooklyn. While we were flattered to receive an order from Ivanka Trump, our social and political views couldn’t be further from those of the Trump campaign. When we received her order, we instantly felt compelled to take the money and donate it to a few organizations that were more aligned with our ideals.”
