Exclusive: Melissa Rycroft Has Swine Flu

Thursday – October 15, 2009 – 4:05pm

Melissa Rycroft has revealed that she has swine flu.

"I am indeed recovering from a bout of the H1N1 flu virus," the former Bachelor star, 26, tells Usmagazine.com exclusively. "Like most people who become infected, I thought I had a mild case of the common flu, but when my symptoms exacerbated, I immediately went to the hospital where I was diagnosed with H1N1 and given the proper medications to cure the infection."

She said she learned a lesson from fiance Tye Strickland's mother, who is a nurse: Get checkups and get better.

"I want to stress to people how easy it is to battle this flu when you take the proper steps such as seeking the care of a doctor," she tells Us. "I'm a clear case that by paying diligent attention to your health, it's easy to overcome this illness and be healthy again."

I love how she lied about her profession on Bachelor. She wasn't a Project Manager or Sales Professional - she was a receptionist at an office. Eye candy for a company. Love how everyone buys into her fakeness. She just needs to go back to where she's from and just smile (not too hard) and nod.

Hey everyone, your right this isnt news. your on the US WEEKLY WEBSITE ... it's not where you GET the news. It's where you get up to date events on celebrities or public figures. How boring would this TABLOIDS be if they only reported on the few dozen a-listers out there.

Hey Anonymous 5:57, I got my information from the doctor's office where I went when I had H1N1 and they told me (and everyone else that went for H1N1) that H1N1 is resistant to Tamiflu. All people are well from H1N1 in a week, it's a flu that lasts a week. I was over it in a week WITHOUT medication. So, you know all of these people in Dallas who have died? You know them well enough to say they don't have any underlying health problems? It's really pathetic that people are buying into these scare tactics about a flu.

To 4:45 - 2 doctors prescribed Tamiflu to 3 people in a family I know who were diagnosed with H1N1 so I don't know where you get your info. All were well in less than a week. FWIW, people are dying from it here in the Dallas area and we take the threat seriously around here. All have not had underlying health conditions.

Lord she is ugly! Who cares - she is so far from a celebrity! Go away! Your 15 minutes are OVER!

Oh my god, someone please make her go away!

You're not supposed to go to see a doctor if you think you have the H1N1 virus, unless you get into a bad shape. By going to a hospital or doctor's office you only increase the patient load and infect other people...

her teeth are so large! why is this news?? The swine flu is only dangerous if you already have an underlying health condition if not it just like the good ole regular flu

Big freaking deal. I've had the swine flu and I lived to tell about it. Plus, what exact medications did Melissa get from the hospital because there is NO medication for H1N1 flu? Not even Tamiflu will help so I'm pretty sure she's announcing this for attention.
