Adam Levine is ready to substitute tunes for horror.

Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that the Maroon 5 frontman and The Voice coach will be making his TV acting debut on American Horror Story's season 2.

While still in contract negotiations, Levine, 33, would be "playing a contemporary character and half of a couple called 'The Lovers,' sources for the FX horror-drama tell EW.

After seeing huge success in its premiere season, American Horror Story's producer Ryan Murphy (who also produces Glee) decided to re-cast and move the location of the show for its upcoming season.

If Levine signs on, he will be joined by seasoned actors including Jessica Lange and Zachary Quinto.
