Aretha Franklin has some R-E-S-P-E-C-T for Adele. The Queen of Soul tipped her hat to the British belter this week, when she released her take on Adele's "Rolling in the Deep."
Franklin, 72, recorded her own version of the 2010 smash hit single. Following the original melody recorded by Adele, now 26, Franklin's "Rolling in the Deep" showcases her world-famous powerhouse vocals.
More than 50 years after she first entered the music business, Franklin's range is as strong as ever, hitting impressive notes as she croons, "We could have had it all / Rolling in the deep / You had my heart inside of your hand / But you played it, to the beat."
The song will be featured on an upcoming album from Franklin. Hitting stores on Oct. 21, Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics features recordings of Franklin performing hit singles from her fellow female superstars.
The "Think" singer will also take on Barbra Streisand's "People" and Whitney Houston's version of "I'm Every Woman."
