All the feels. Catelynn Lowell returns from treatment in a preview for the Monday, September 26, episode of Teen Mom OG. In the emotional preview, the 24-year-old reality star reunites with her husband, Tyler Baltierra, after spending a month away at an Arizona-based treatment center.
As viewers witnessed on last week’s episode of the hit MTV docuseries, Lowell entered the program to get help for her mental health issues. When she arrives back in Michigan, as seen in the clip above, the TV personality’s producer Jessica picks her up at the airport to bring her back home to her family.
In the car, Jessica asks the 16 & Pregnant alum if she thinks going to treatment was beneficial. “Oh, my God, yeah,” Lowell — who says she is “still on [antidepressant] Zoloft” — enthuses. “It helped tremendously.”
When the ladies reach the Conquering Chaos author’s house, Lowell’s longtime love is standing in the dining room waiting to greet her. When the couple lock eyes, they immediately go in for a huge hug. After sharing a long embrace and a few smooches, Lowell sits down to read a card written to her by Baltierra, 24.
The camera zooms in on the heartfelt note, which reads: “I am so proud of you for doing all of the hard work you have done this past month. You are the strongest, most courageous and beautiful human being I have ever met. I am honored to call you my wife and love you beyond words. You are amazing and you are strong. You’re gorgeous and brave, caring and nurturing, you’re angelic and graceful, and more importantly … you’re worthy of love! … I love you babe, don’t ever forget it!”
After letting the sweet sentiments sink in, Lowell exclaims, “Aww, you’re so cute!”
She then stands up to wrap her arms around Baltierra — with whom she shares daughter Novalee, 20 months — and jokes, “You smell good. I haven’t smelled a man in a month!”
During a September 6 interview with MTV News, Lowell opened up about the tough decision to leave her family for an extended period of time for the sake of her mental health.
“I decided I needed to get help from talking with Tyler and realizing that I maybe needed something more intense for myself,” the young mom — whose struggles with anxiety and depression have long been documented on MTV — said. “For some reason, I just had a lightbulb moment where I was like, ‘Maybe I need extra help.'”
