Way to be brutally honest, Chelsea Handler! On Chelsea Lately Thursday, Sept. 19, the host teased actress pal Leah Remini about her bad dance skills on season 17 of Dancing With the Stars.
"You're beautiful, I love you and now you're on Dancing With the Stars and you can't dance," Handler, 38, joked.
"Is that not the show? You're not supposed to know how to dance. Is that the show?" Remini 43, asked about ABC's dance competition show, where Remini has been paired with pro partner Tony Dovolani. "I'm not a dancer, okay? You're not supposed to be a dancer . . . that's the whole show I thought."
In her defense, Handler said "you were good on the show" and it wasn't fair that they put her on the show "with a bunch of people who are professional dancers."
"Christina Milian, Amber Riley and Corbin Bleu — they're all dancers!" Handler said of the singer, Glee star and High School Musical alum. "They're all dancers, Dancing With the Stars!"
"Thank you! Right!" Remini agreed. "So compared to them, yeah, I'm going to look like crap. Even though I had good posture, I thought."
But Handler still thinks Remini could use some help working on her skills. "Why can't your husband [singer Angelo Pagan] help you, though? He's a musician. Can't he help you dance?" she asked. She then pointed out Remini's close friend Jennifer Lopez, who sat in the audience at last Monday's premiere. "Aren't you best friends with J.Lo? Can't she help you?"
"Oh. Okay. So she goes, 'Okay, Leah. Do this.' And I'm supposed to be able to do it?" Remini asked. "Yeah, she does it. Why can't you?" Handler joked.
"Because she's a dancer, dummy!" Remini shouted. "What don't you get about this?!"
The actress certainly wasn't the worst contestant on the dance floor, however. After the Monday, Sept. 16 premiere of the 17th season of DWTS, Remini and partner Dovolani came in eighth place out of 12 couples.
