Conan O'Brien's rep is shooting down a report that claims his last night as host of The Tonight Show will be Friday, Jan. 22.

"Not true," his rep tells UsMagazine.com. "He has a scheduled hiatus the week of January 25."

I will not watch Leno. I'm with Conan!

@Irish Lady, Did you read the letter at all? Conan was gracious and avoided complaining. He even went as far as to point out that he has had it really great in a time of real strife. This letter did not seem to me an attempt to whine publicly, but rather a statement about where he stands (and what he will not stand for). This is a big mistake on NBC's part. My opinion of Jay Leno has forever been changed, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Conan means to most of my generation what Johnny Carson meant to many a generation before us. I feel that the repercussions of this for NBC will be felt if not now then certainly in the long run.

  • January 15, 2010 - 12:20pm TEAM CONAN

    TEAM CONAN!!!!!

I'm not a big Conan fan, but I wasn't a big Leno fan at first either. Leno needs to step aside...give Conan a chance. If in a year or two it's still not working out, then bring Leno back if need be. It's Conan's show now.

  • January 15, 2010 - 9:51am Irish Lady

I've tried to watch Conan since he started with the Tonight Show in June, but he just doesn't fit that format. He was better off remaining with his old show. Jay Leno is okay, he's not Johnny Carson, and no matter who they fill that show with for a host, it's never going to be the Tonight Show the way a lot of recall. I didn't like Conan's letter to the public, it was stupid; we are in a recession - the worst since the 1982, and this guy is making 45 million with or without a contract at NBC. What the heck is he complaining about - Mr. O'Brien - how many folks DO NOT HAVE JOBS in this country. Stop complaining, when you are making so much money. If you don't like NBC, then leave the network and go elsewhere. As for Jay Leno, he can stay or go from NBC and he's not the icing on the cake. NBC needs to review the Tonight Show and see what works best in the long run.

@Moe, I AGREE! I HAVE TRIED AND TRIED TO GIVE CONAN A CHANCE, BUT I DONT FIND HIM FUNNY. ITS ALL NBC'S FAULT. THEY ARE THE ONES WHO MESSED IT ALL UP. I FEEL BAD FOR CONAN, HE UP ROOTED HIS FAMILY TO MOVE TO LA, ONLY TO GET KICKED TO THE CURB. BLAME JEFF ZUCKER, THE EXEC AT NBC!

  • January 15, 2010 - 7:51am dpunty

Whether you like Conan or Jay, NBC hired Conan for the Tonight Show and has a contract with him. Just because Jay's terrible variety show didn't have good ratings isn't Conan's fault. Whoever let Jay have that show at 10 PM is an idiot. Those types of shows were popular in the 1970's but not in 2009. Iâ??m sure Conanâ??s contract doesnâ??t say you are the host of the Tonight Show until Jay wants to return.

  • January 15, 2010 - 12:51am Moe

Whatever, I am 22 and think Leno is wayyyy funnier than conan. i'm tired of pro conan jerks telling other people what to think is funny according to their age groups... sorry but conan is not funny for me at all. And his ratings blow, not sure what all the drama is about when NO ONE cared to watch his show a week ago. d-bags.

  • January 15, 2010 - 12:18am erica

NO ONE does it like Conan, he's the only one that can actually make me laugh. No one in NBC can make me laugh like he does. NBC has gone down the drain if he's not a part of it.

  • January 14, 2010 - 11:39pm Ariel

Go COCO! Leno needs to go, since he is the one who RETIRED! Leno's a jerk. Maybe Conan can pull the Chuck Norris lever and he will come and kick Leno's a$$.

  • January 14, 2010 - 11:24pm Swammy

Leno need s to accept that he has had a good run and step aside and let Conan have a chance. Leno is not appealing to 18-35 demographic, his comedy is generic. Conan is hilarious and has great enery direction for a more updated tonight show!

  • January 14, 2010 - 10:24pm chris

Will not watch Leno he needs to retire they say he is a very dirty player now we see it.What a creep!!!!

  • January 14, 2010 - 9:30pm Boeing 787

Conan has been treated like crap by the network and Jeff Zucker, he has been with NBC as long as Leno has and he became a victim of Zucker's time change experiment that went wrong. Because of the weight he carries Leno and Zucker can reverse mistakes but O'Brien has no choice but to move with the winds of what Leno and Zucker decide, he has no real say. Zucker has to go.

  • January 14, 2010 - 9:14pm Mel

So sorry your 10pm early tonight show didn't work out for ya.....Leno needs to retire!

  • January 14, 2010 - 9:14pm leno SUX!

the same thing happened to david letterman. he had to leave do to precious leno. now it's conan. leno is not funny! he reads what the writers give him. conan says silly things out of the blue and is hilarious, goofy, and down to earth!!!! leno is an egomaniac! nething he wants he gets bc he's a butt wiper! everyone i talk to wants conan 2stay and leno to get over his self and go away! he's the one who wasn't getn ratings and got cancelled! get it right people..they talk about it evryday on the radio...LENO SUX..HAHAHA

  • January 14, 2010 - 9:01pm Conan O'Brien

    I'M WITH COCO!

  • January 14, 2010 - 8:07pm Conan Needs to Leave

Conan is not funny. Conan needs to leave and HE is the reason for the destruction of The Tonight Show. What an egomaniac. He really thinks he is the only person in the world qualified to host The Tonight Show? Delusional.

  • January 14, 2010 - 7:50pm Too Bad It's Not True

Time for Conan to go. Too bad the story isn't true. This is the second time he's threatened to leave the network to get what he wants. Just let him go. He's not funny anyway. He is the one who screwed up the whole late night line up.

  • January 14, 2010 - 7:35pm Conan Needs to Go

CONAN is the reason for the destruction of The Tonight Show. What an ego on him, and for no good reason. Jay is way funnier and never should have left The Tonight Show.

  • January 14, 2010 - 7:34pm Anonymous

If it's true that Leno is back to the Tonight Show, shame on NBC. By the way, Leno is a jerk. He needs to accept that his show was whack and just retire.
