In its opening weekend, The Expendables 2 took the top spot at the box office with $28.8 million. The action-packed film -- starring Sylvester Stallone, 66, Liam Hemsworth, 22, Jason Statham, 44, Jet Li, 49, Jean-Claude Van Damme, 51, Bruce Willis, 57, Arnold Schwarzenegger, 65, Chuck Norris, 72, Terry Crews, 44, and Dolph Lundgren, 54 -- raked in about $6 million less than its 2010 predecessor.
Jeremy Renner's The Bourne Legacy fell to No. 2 in its second week with $16 million, bringing its domestic total to $69.6 million. The 3D animated feature ParaNorman -- featuring the voices of Christopher Mintz-Plasse, 23, Anna Kendrick, 27, Casey Affleck, 37, Leslie Mann, 40, and John Goodman, 60 -- raked in $14 million in its opening weekend.
Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis' The Campaign grossed $13.4 million, bringing it to a fourth place finish, while Jordin Sparks and Whitney Houston's Sparkle debuted in fifth place with $12 million. The latter, a remake of the 1976 classic, was Houston's final film before her February 2012 passing.
