When 26-year-old Maine dental student Ashley Hebert signed on to appear as ABC's new Bachelorette this spring, a source tells Us Weekly Hebert failed to make bank like the bachelorettes before her.

Instead of raking in a salary in the $100,000 range -- the top-tier payment for show contestants -- the production insider tells Us Hebert pocketed about $30,000 from the network for her two-month shoot, which taped mid-March through mid-May of this year.

In comparison, Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney -- who found love on The Bachelor's 2009 season -- enjoyed the same payday for televising their two-hour wedding on ABC in March 2010.

Tara, the bach/ette do NOT pick the dates. In fact, they don't even get to pick who goes on most of the dates. They give producers the names of the guys who interest them and the producers take it from there.
Ashley is the best Bachelorette ever. She was head and shoulders above everyone else on Brad's season. She's worth much more than $30,000. This is my favorite season and I hope she finds happiness in the end.

Oh, BTW...Making the guys fight each other on a group date was totally immature. Is that the best you could come up with? Poor Ames winding up in the hospital was totally uncalled for. What a turn off. They should have all packed their bags and walked away. Only a ditz would come up with such an outrageous group date. If I were Ames, the only reason I'd stick around is to take advantage of traveling the world and hopefully meeting someone special.

Bentley is an actor-who did a lousy job by the way. Ashley is being paid to be in on it-she is actually an ok "actress." Several of the other guys that left recently, will all be on the Bachelor Pad-watch for it. It's joke. It's not even a guilty pleasure anymore.
Who knows? All I know is that I am tired of ABC believing we are all idiots and that there aren't "plants" or hired actors, and scripts! Michelle Money=a plant, along with several this season. Really insulting.
I can believe that. Most likely the viewing attendance is down, it is a very disappointing series. This Bentley thing is just so stupid and boring. The guys are correct, who wants to be second. Ashley has really done this to herself.Games shows this is not she needed to not play games but to late now it will never be right. I usually LOVE these shows, but I must agree that this is pretty boring. I think they should start taking money back from her for every time she says Bentley's name...ugh.
