Former American Idol contestant Alex Lambert has fallen on hard times.
A top 16 finisher who competed on the show's ninth season, Lambert, 20, revealed to his fans that he's been sleeping on the streets of Los Angeles.

After his stint on Idol, Lambert took part in Simon Fuller's Internet "post-reality" series about struggling actors, models and musicians trying to make it in L.A. While he was on the show, Lambert and his castmates -- including Miley Cyrus' ex, Justin Gaston -- moved into a multi-million dollar mansion and were mentored by songwriters and image consultants.
"Ever since IICD ended I've been kinda homeless!" Lambert Tweeted. "Sleepin on the street and behind buildings. I have a choice to stay and persue my career or go back to Texas and not do music! I'm usually a strong person but I can't take it anymore."

Despite his recent misfortune, the singer/songwriter -- whose Idol elimination was deemed one of the more shocking cuts in show history -- says he'll continue to find a way to make music.
"I'm a poor boy yall! Never had nothin in my life," Lambert blogged. "Please be grateful for everything you have. Because there's people out there with nothing! There's no way I'll ever stop making music as long as I live."
Editor's Note: Hours after this story was posted, Lambert took to his Twitter page again to clarify his statements. "I have places to stay, I just don't want to be a burden on anyone," he wrote. "I regret postin all that! Everything'll be fine!" Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, a rep for the singer chalks Lambert's Twitter rant up to simply a "bad day."

7My exact thoughts are, HOW IS HE TWEETING AND BEING HOMELESS? PRIORITIES? But who am I to judge...
Has any news source confirmed he's homeless? Alex is notorious for his exaggerated BS.
How is he tweeting and homeless?
Maybe he borrowed someone's phone or computer you don't know so don't be so quick to judge.
Wow - he needs to go back home to his parents. And folks, he might be tweeting from an internet cafe. Or maybe he has a friend that he can visit, but can't stay there. Happened to me for 5 months when I was a bit older than him. And I had friends I could visit at their dorm, but I couldn't stay over. He says he's sleeping behind buildings - doesn't sound like he's carrying a computer around with him. He might have a cell - you can get cards for those. And if he thinks he can't make music in Texas - hasn't he ever heard of Buddy Holly??? These days you can make music from anywhere - what's he talking about? Oh, right - he's a scared, homeless teenager who needs to go home.
honey just come back to texas i have a room for you dont pay any attention to the haters they don know whats its like to be homeless
So he is homeless but still has time, a pc and internet access to go on twitter and moan about life. Find yourself a job and then pursue your musical career.
