Chris Colfer is ready to branch out behind the scenes!

The Glee star, 20, has sold his first TV pilot to Disney, reports.

The Little Leftover Witch, based on the children's book of the same name by Florence Laughlin, chronicles the life of "a little witch who was taken in by a family after crash-landing from her broom," according to Deadline.

Colfer became familiar with the project after it was optioned by his agent's husband, Rick Fine, who brought the actor in to adapt the material.

And the Disney Channel series isn't all that's in the works for Colfer: He's writing -- and will appear in -- the indie coming-of-age comedy Struck By Lightning.

Colfer, who appears on the FOX series as Kurt Hummel, will join his Glee castmates for a nationwide concert tour this summer.
