Art imitates life for Glee star Lea Michele.
A source tells Us Weekly the actress (who plays uptight show standout Rachel Berry), 23, is a diva on the set of the Fox show, which airs its season finale Tuesday night.

"Lea acts like she's better than the rest of the cast," says the insider. "But the thing is, she legitimately is."
Another set source says, "She's sweet, but she has her moments."

Apt to boss around makeup artists and other crew members, "She has very clear ideas about what she wants to do and how she wants to look. I think she's just Type-A, like her character."
A second pal points out that Lea has "always wanted to be a star," and, in a classic Hollywood move, "she has become super-strict about her diet. She is a vegan now and says she hasn't eaten cheese in a year!"'
Michele -- who admitted on The Oprah Winfrey Show she's more like her character than any of her co-stars -- even "sings along to her own songs on the radio."
VIDEO: Watch Lea explain how she's like her character
At a May 24 cast dinner at Chicago's Sunda, she was the only star who refused to sign autographs for fans. After it was reported she snapped at photographer Patrick McMullan for asking her name at the Time 100 party, she Twittered that it was a "silly joke."
Still, the cast has bonded working 14-hour days.
"We've become so close, Dianna Agron, 24, who plays pregnant cheerleader Quinn Fabray, tells Us. "We're like a family."

Tell Us What You Think
62*Charice is better than Lea Michele. That's all. :)
Charice > Lea Michele. That's all. :)
So. Everyone in the main casts she's worked with from Les Miz to Glee has adored her. Big families and whatnot. The people she worked with for a year at age 9 still keep in touch with her, so...I don't think they do it for show. In her audition, she was submersed in the Rachel role...and they hired her *because* of that. People love to hate talent. Also, Stacie...her mom, Edith, is an Italian Catholic, and her dad, Marc, is a Spanish Sefardic Jew. She's both.
That is not true about her and the Spring Awakening cast!! Never worked with her so i cant say (as everyone else posting on here) for sure, but from what I hear of others who have worked with her and how the author of this admitted he was joking around/using journalism humor, she is not a diva diva.. There are many worse out there. The audition tape was editing to make her look divaish, you can tell. And for her getting onto the piano player, it is a tough love theatre thing (as she has grown up around theatre scene) I'm positive Directors and crew members have bitten her head off before. Then again, to be rational, many people in the Arts (and in general) started off very sweet and kind and then get a huge ego after they hit the big time. Perhaps that is she?? I hope not. Ego=Ingredient to eminent fail. Proven over and over again.
Oh, and to the guy who said she's Jewish...she's not. She's Catholic. She is of Spanish and Italian descent.
I know people who've met her and says she as nice as could be. And why the crap would you trust a magazine? These things capitalize off the amount of trust we put into the media. And the day that she auditioned, the pianist missed an entire verse. It was clearly done as a joke; she seems like a genuinely sweet person. And, in spite of what everyone says, she IS the most talented performer on the show.
Yo Haters: WHY ARE U EVEN HERE? Seriously, I don't get it. I mean, I would never comment on an article about "Jon+Kate+Random Bimbos - any shred of class+a $h!tload of kids who need new parents", "Wipeout", "CSI:Toldeo", "According to Jim" or any of your other faves. I don't waste my time reading about things I don't like so I can tell everyone how much it sucks. That is a retarded waste of time. No one cares what you think. What are you intending to accomplish. Do you think some Glee fans are going to read your brilliant (and usually homophobic, bigoted or otherwise simple-minded and intolerant) statement and change their opinion of the show they love? Really? You are even more of a f**king idiot than you inane comments give you credit for.. and that is saying a lot!! I love Glee. This article is just trying to create controversy where there is none. Anything to talk about Glee, because the show is on fire. And while Charice has a beautiful voice, she doesn't have the fire or charisma that Lea does(in my opinion). She will be a lovely addition, but Ms. Michelle doesn't have anything to worry about!!
Lea will have some real competition next season. Charice started singing at 4 and competing in singing contests at 7 TO WIN MONEY TO BUY FOOD FOR HER FAMILY. Minor backstage intrigues are nothing to this kid and Leas divaness will roll right off her back. Lea better start practicing her chops, she's gonna need them.
She is pretty hot to me, great body but thats enough about looks. I think she is a star, she is the most talented and that is why she is the star of the show. I think she knows what she wants because she is a apro by now, shes been doing this since she a little girl. If she were a man this wouldn't even be news. The reporter guy admitted she was joking around so why is this news anyways?
She better learn - You are nothing with out fans.
There's nothing wrong with telling people what you want. She wants to succeed, and she has the talent, so good for her! Lea Michele is the reason I watch Glee. The so-called "insider" is absolutely right - she IS better than everyone else on the show. If you don't see that, you're either kidding yourself or you're blind to real talent. I like the other actors on the show (a lot, actually), but Lea Michele has something special.
No wonder she plays her role so well.
How, how i cannot stand this show. lol
the reason Matt & Lea are at the Tony's is because they came from BROADWAY-which is what the Tony's are about. It really must be slow news time because I am so sick of hearing about the Times reporter-who stated that he knew she was joking-give it a rest. And to those who call people ugly you aren't diva's are you??? my guess is you are or you are just plain rude
To those who say Lea was nice to them: Actors can be sweet to their fans, but the second you turn around, they're back to b****. I used to do theater and musicals, and I know several people like that. Backstage, they were bossy, rude and looked down on people they thought weren't as talented, but as soon as the show was over and audience members started coming up for autographs, they were just the nicest people you could ever imagine. I'm not saying that she is actually like this, but ever since I saw her audition video where she laid all the blame on the piano player when she messed up, I've started to wonder. (You never, EVER do that, even if the piano player was the one who messed up. You continue on as if nothing has gone wrong)
I'm tired of hearing people say she's better than everyone else on the show. She's just not, some of them sure. But there are several who are just as, if not more, talented than she is. She's been trained in voice since she was how old. Chris Colfer had never had a voice lesson in his life before this show and look at how he outdoes her. All she has on her side is volume, she doesn't even have that much talent in terms of HOW she sings the songs. A God-given voice and some training is not enough to scream about how amazing she is. I don't know if she's a diva or not, but she's said repeatedly that she's A LOT like her character, who is a diva, so that lends credence to that. The cast doesn't seem to have issue with her, but who can really tell in interviews. She's the 'star' of the show, can't expose her as a b!tch even if she is one.
She's a diva because she's a woman who clearly states what she wants and vocally expresses her opinion without worry of what other people think? If she were a man, this would not even be a mention because as a man she would be decisive, determined go getter. However, as a woman she's a diva. Not all women are meek, demure, passive nothings. Some of us have ambitions and goals and when American society gets that in its head, women like Lea Michelle won't seem so shocking and out of place.
this is her job. Are you best friends with everyone you work with? How would they describe you? Think of that before you judge from this article..
To everyone defending her - believe what you want, but the rumors have been circulating about her nasty attitude for years. Nobody in the Spring Awakening cast, save for Jonathan Groff, wanted to be around her. Lea's not "type-A," she's just an inconsiderate child who thinks that because she is somewhat talented, she can get away with rude behavior. She's hardly an irreplaceable talent, though, and there are a thousand other girls out there who could do her job - and who don't look like Gerard Butler in drag.
I saw Lea Michele on Broadway in Spring Awakenings several years ago. I haven't been able to get that voice out of my head since. Diva? Hmmmmm...she has been starring on Broadway since she was 7 or 8. She may have DEFINITE ideas of what she expects of others since she has a lifetime of experience...at EVEN 23 years of age. Let her diva away. I wouldn't miss GLEE ..and will probably REWATCH all of them all summer!
