How I Met Your Dad has found its mother! Greta Gerwig is set to star in the lead role of CBS' upcoming How I Met Your Mother spinoff, How I Met Your Dad, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In addition to starring in the comedy pilot, the 30-year-old Frances Ha actress will reportedly serve as a producer and writer, if the pilot moves to series.
Gerwig will play Sally, who is described as a "female Peter Pan who never has grown up and has no idea where she's going in life."
Carter Bays, Craig Thomas and Emily Spivey will write the script and executive produce with How I Met Your Mother director Pam Fryman. The pilot is set to film in L.A., but would move shooting to New York if it gets picked up.
How I Met Your Mother will air it's final episode on March 31 after nine seasons. The sitcom follows the life of Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor), who shares stories to his son and daughter about living in New York with his group of New York friends and how the events led him to finding their mother.
