Hear Idol Winner Kris Allen's New Single!

The wait is over, American Idol fans: Kris Allen's first single has hit the radio airwaves!
Last season's winner, 24, premiered "Live Like We're Dying," the lead single from his Nov. 17 Jive debut, Monday on New York City's Z100 morning radio show.

"It was really cool. You dream of this day, you dream of having a single out and having it on the radio, so this was a cool day," Allen told radio DJ Elvis Duran and the Z100 morning-show team, adding that it was the first time he had heard one of his songs on the radio.
The uptempo sing-songy tune with a "life wisdom" message to live life to the fullest, is a cover of a little-known track by Irish band the Script.

"[The song] was actually one that we had listened to really early on, and we kind of just fell in love with it. Everyone did," the Idol champ told MTV News.
"Live Like We're Dying" will be available Sept. 29 on iTunes.
American Idol's Adam Lambert, who finished second to Allen at the show's May finale, will release his first album Nov. 24 with backing from RCA Records.

Love it! It's upbeat and very catchy. Hope he and the other idol's are successful.
If anyone really critques the song, you are accused of being a Lambert, but the song is a mess. Kris seems to be a nice guy, but seriously he is not a performer and there are so many that are not American idol people who out sing him. Go to any church with praise leaders and they all sound like Kris.
I think it's a great song. It's catchy and fun and upbeat. Something everyone can sing along to and is very radio friendly. What's not to love? Kris has a unique voice with a beautiful rich tone. This song really suits him and he really seems to have fun with it. The lyrics have a positive message that everyone can relate to. I'm really looking forward to Novemember so I can hear the rest of his album.
How did I like Kris's song? Not at all! One can see he rely's on other people to get something together which isn't much. Going back to American Idol, the wrong person won and it's becoming very obvious.
C'mon. I dont think he could of released a cathier song for his first single. As for a cover, reminds me of a band WESTLIFE, who have never wrote a song and are one of the most succesful bands of all time. Kris' song is amazing and hoping for more of the same.

The problem is that Kris is a singer and no Entertainer. He will always be singing at country fairs in the future or at weddings. The show AI had here, he didn't even acknowledge the audience.
Kris, who talked you into this? I love AintNoSunshine, Heartless, She Works Hard For The Money. But this single??? OMG! Kris, you're doomed.

Disappointed but kind of expected this. Kris is likable but also forgettable. Same with this song.
I AM a Kris fan but I have to disagree with this comment: "I fell sad for all the people who have negative comments on such a cool song by Kris which is current, radio friendly and technically great. You guys definitely are way behind the music scene." I own this song already and have for over a year -- it is not current or technically great. It is a cover, without any artistic newness, of The Script recording. Sorry, I really love Kris, but I expect more from him than this. Hoping for something new and worthy of Kris on his album. Please no more retreads of someone else's old material. At least he could have rearranged it. (And don't bash me as an Adam fan -- because I am not!! I have supported Kris for months and now this is what I get. Put me on the very disappointed Kris fan list.)

I can't believe the time has come where we appreciate 'No Boundries'...lol. How strange could this be. Having said that, I totaly agree with you Kristine, hands down 'NB's is way better a single hit than this one. At least it is Original...I know some people are going crazy reading this but I am entitled to my opinion as you are to yours. so suck it up and accept reality, this song sucks big time! As for Kris, a brotherly advise...please fire whoever made you release this song and sing something that is "you". As a fan I need to hear your own stuff man, not some fast-forward song from some drunkard Irish band....
I personally prefer "No Boundaries" than this one as a single. This is a mistake Kris. I hope you have something better in store for me....I love you so much! Love Kristine

Yes, there are "some bitterberts" trolling, here. Why not take the high road abd ignore them. If you don't feed the bear, it'll lumber off to somewhere else (INCLUDING the VFTWorsters). Just sayin'.
