After weeks of lackluster performances from the Top 12 male contestants on American Idol, Michael "Big Mike" Lynche proved he just may be the one to beat for this year's title.

The 26-year-old Lynche offered a game-changing rendition of Kate Bush's "This Woman's Work," moving judge Kara DioGardi to tears.

"It's amazing. You were amazing," a weepy DioGuardi told Lynche as she leaned on Simon Cowell's shoulder for support. "It's your life right now, it's your respect for your wife, what you've gone through. ...It brought me to tears."

DioGuardi wasn't the only one blown away. Cowell deemed the performance one of the season's best.

"You come out with an incredibly difficult song to sing, and you 100 percent nailed it," Cowell said. "Not just the best performance of the night, it was the best performance of all these live shows so far."

Don't think it was Mike's performance (although he was very good) that made Kara cry. Seems like she can't handle Simon calling her comments "utter rubbish" :)
