Jessica Simpson is — almost — ready to show off her post-baby weight loss on national television!
The singer/designer has been tapped as Katie Couric's very first guest on her new syndicated talk show, Katie, on September 10, it was announced Tuesday. According to a statement from the Katie team, Simpson, 32, will discuss some of her "most intense challenges — including losing the weight she put on during her pregnancy — the journey to get back into shape . . . and how she's learned to juggle motherhood and her billion dollar business empire."
Singer Sheryl Crow will also appear on the September 10 episode with Simpson.
Inking a $4 million deal with Weight Watchers to drop unwanted pregnancy pounds before giving birth to daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson in May, Simspson has worked with celeb trainer Harley Pasternak in an effort to slim down.
"[Weight Watchers] focuses on healthy habits for the long-term (and I can still indulge in my guilty pleasures every now and then, too)," the new mom raved of her chosen weight loss method, which includes following a point-counting system. "I have actually gotten a group of friends together who are going to be doing it with me."
One of Simpson's biggest and most recent diet changes: She's cut out the booze! "Responsibility has drastically changed my life. Saturday night drink of choice…. water! :)" Simpson tweeted in early August.
According to a source, Simpson must lose 20-30 pounds in order to cash in on her Weight Watchers payday. Still, Simpson confirms she's looking to adopt a healthier lifestyle first and foremost. "Weight Watchers hasn't put any pressure on me!" Simpson, engaged to Maxwell's dad, Eric Johnson, since fall 2010, has said. "I'm trying to be as healthy as I can be for myself and I feel great."
