Oh snap, Kalinda! For years there’s been rumors of a feud between The Good Wife costars Julianna Margulies and Archie Panjabi. And after Margulies’ recent interview claiming there is no feud between the two, Panjabi took to Twitter to tell her side of the story.

“Right, I’ve heard about [the feud]. Who says that? It’s totally gossip,” Margulies, 49, who plays lawyer Alicia Florrick, told The New Yorker‘s Joshua Rothman (via Vultureat the New Yorker Festival on Sunday, Oct. 4. “I heard that question had been asked to [creator] Robert King. There’s no story there, sorry … I actually had heard [that rumor] and I feel that it has been talked about and answered. I feel people just like to have gossip or make something into something that isn’t there.”

But on Monday, Oct. 5, Panjabi, 43, tweeted a link to Margulies’ interview, writing, “@TheFallTV  was not even in production at that time and I was in New York ready to film the scene!”

The now-infamous scene aired this past spring when Alicia and Kalinda (Panjabi) were forced to share their first on-screen moment together in years during the season finale. Ultimately, a green screen was used to capture the moment — which, indeed, was Panjabi’s final episode ever on the series. (She signed a development/holding deal with 20th Century Fox Television, which will lead to her starring in a drama pilot for the studio in the spring.)

“It was shot the way Robert wanted to shoot it, and the story line, too,” she said. “You also have to remember, there’s difficulty … [Panjabi] was also doing another show, called The Fall. I went along with whatever Robert asked me to do and I did it happily.”

Back in August at the CBS TCAs, entertainment chairman Nina Tassler defended the scene, telling reporters: “Bottom line is, the ending of the show was a very satisfying ending for the relationship between those two characters. I stand behind how Robert and Michelle King produced their show.”

Margulies also felt that more attention was given to the rumored feud because it was between two women.

“There’s no animosity on my part,” she noted. “It’s a shame, because I wonder if it was two men, when one finds out that he f—ked his best friend’s wife, if it would get that same attention, you know what I mean?” she added, referencing Kalinda’s one-night stand with Alicia’s husband on the show, which caused an irreparable rift between the two characters.
