Kanye West Turns Hits Into Lullabies on New Disc

Mother's Day 2010 is dead and gone, but by any chance are you still looking for the perfect gift for a new mom? Once again, Kanye West comes through with something for literally everybody. While the Grammy-loved superstar lays low in the recording studio prepping to resurrect his career, Rockabye Baby! (a company that has released nursery-ready versions of the greatest hits of rockers including Guns N' Roses, Nirvana, The Beatles and Coldplay) has taken Mr. West to task by releasing their first ever hip-hop collection featuring all of his hits on May 18.

Included in the set are ubiquitous jams such as "Gold Digger," "Good Life," "Love Lockdown," and, of course, "Hey Mama."

So, why does the company feel Yeezy is ready for a younger audience? "Kanye brings together so many popular styles and creates a really modern kind of soul music," they said. "So the challenge was to translate, into a lullaby, the key elements of that vibe. And there is so much to latch on to in Kanye's music — from the charisma of his tracks to his musicality and candidness as a performer –we knew there had to be a way."

Check out a sample of West's "Gold Digger" above.

If you're still mad at Kanye (I take it Taylor Swift won't be picking up this set) or are too much of a rock diehard, don't worry: you can still pick up discs of lullabies featuring the songs of Journey, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, Green Day or Radiohead at rockabyebabymusic.com. And look for upcoming sets by Black Sabbath, Elvis, Bon Jovi and The Police. I'll take that one wrapped around my finger!
