Kelly Clarkson “Totally” Wants to Duet With “Biggest Fan” Demi Lovato

Kelly Clarkson and Demi Lovato once performed together.

Finally found her! Kelly Clarkson said in an interview last month that she has trouble booking collaborations, but this week, the "Stronger" singer revealed to MTV News that she definitely has a partner in Demi Lovato

"I love her! I love her," Clarkson, 32, gushed of the "Really Don't Care" performer, 22. "We almost got to work together, and I was pregnant and she'd asked me to sing, and I totally was down. I just, I think it didn't work out. She was touring, I was super pregnant and not feeling well, and it didn't work out this time, but it totally will."

"We've gotten to sing together before," the Grammy winner added to MTV News, referencing December 2011's Z100 Jingle Ball, where the two stars performed "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" for the New York City crowd. "We were at a show and I was like, 'Let's sing together! Let's do a Christmas song!'"

Lovato, who previously named Clarkson as a dream collaborator, regularly enlists other artists for her albums, and has worked with Cher Lloyd, Jason Derulo, Iyaz, and Missy Elliott, among others.

"I love her. She's so sweet," Clarkson continued to MTV of Lovato. "Every time we see each other, she's always like, 'I like Kelly Clarkson,' she's always so nice, she's like my biggest fan and I love it. It's so awesome, we're both Texans."

While Clarkson may get the chance to work with Lovato, in her earlier interview, the American Idol alum claimed that she has trouble arranging duets. "I honestly would collaborate with a lot of people, but everyone usually says no," the musician said in comments to BBC Radio 1 that she has since walked back. "I'm not kidding you. I have legitimately asked several people that I'm not going to call out, and that's cool, but I don't know."

"I ask good people, I don't want to sing with crap people, so I mean, I ask people who are great vocalists, but I'm not going to point out anyone," continued Clarkson, who was able to recruit John Legend for her new album. "I have asked several people… Sometimes I feel like I have the plague, or leprosy, they're like, 'If you get too close…' I don't know."
