Keep it in the family! Lori Loughlin (and the rest of the world!) still don't know if Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will join Netflix's Full House reboot. But during her visit to Us Weekly's NYC headquarters, the actress offered up the perfect stand-in for Michelle Tanner: Elizabeth Olsen!
"I couldn't pick anyone — maybe their younger sister Lizzie! That would be fun right? She would take over the role," Loughlin, 50, said of the Captain America: Civil War actress on Friday, April 24. "They are all beautiful. They have good genes!" (Elizabeth stepped out from behind her sisters' shadows in 2011. The twins, meanwhile, have focused more on their fashion lines The Row and Elizabeth and James since the Tanner glory days.)
As previously reported, Mary-Kate and Ashley — who haven't acted since 2011 and 2010, respectively — were blindsided by the 13-episode Fuller House spin-off news, but have plans to discuss the project with the creators. Loughlin, meanwhile, has yet to sign a contract, but assumes that "everyone will be back" to film. After all, who wouldn't want to see Aunt Becky and Uncle Jesse (John Stamos) reunite?
"My husband [Mossimo Giannulli] loves John," the When Calls the Heart star said. "He says, 'I get it. I think you should be with John too!' He's a very good sport about it." Loughlin and Stamos have dodged dating rumors for years, but the actress revealed in March 2014 that the longtime pals never hooked up in real life.
Loughlin played Aunt Becky on the beloved series from 1988 to 1995, and still remains close with her costars, including Candace Cameron Bure, Bob Saget, and Dave Coulier. As for Aunt Becky? According to Loughlin, she's probably taken her Wake Up San Francisco reporting days to the next level!
"She'd be the new Barbara Walters!" Loughlin told Us, laughing, but "she might still be in the attic."
